He is a god to me ,have you not noticed lol, he always had he cant do it in europe tag , i want him to do it for that reason
Both me and my partner said at the beginning of the tournament that we wanted Mancini to be the manager of the winning side if England didn't win it. However, as lovely as it would be to see him do that it would now be a mere consolation. Neither of us expected England to get to the final, whereas Italy's form has been pretty phenomenal.

So again you didn't see him kick the defender on the calf before any other perceived incident that would have made Kane flop over in the box?

How can you not see him kick the defender lol

But if this is what we do to make a point correct I'll play.

Kane - not a penalty

Sterling - penalty
Look - it's going to be a subject of controversy. Yes, I saw the play transpire. Yes, I still think that Kane was fouled - a penalty. No I don't think that the Sterling penalty call was meritted.

Sterling "foul" - not a penalty

It's been a woman finding the exact Kane foul replay - and indeed I have no replay for you to watch.

However, rewatching YoutubeTV this is the sequence:
Minute 73:19 - Defender against Kane goes to ground. Maybe Kane kicks him - not clear. Doesn't seem to be a foul for me.
Minute 73:21 - Kane is in the box. Clear foul on Kane.

I wish I could show video of this but I cannot - if you can rewatch the game go to the timespots I've posted above and make your own decision.

After your pushback, I once again rewatched the game around these controversial decisions to make sure that I wasn't missing something.

After re-review - I stand by my observations.
Kane didn't appear to me to foul prior to the penalty. Video on YoutubeTV wasn't the greatest at all and there's no slow motion replay of this - so I might be wrong.

If however Kane did commit a foul there, why didn't the ref immediately blow his whistle? As Kane had the ball after this incident, there was clearly no advantage accruing to Denmark - and hence, if the ref thought that Kane had fouled, he should have immediately blown. Instead the play progress for at least 2 more seconds during which time Kane is fouled in the box... maybe this is in the realm of reaction time... beats me. Either way, I didn't see a foul by Kane whereas I did see a clear foul on Kane.

For me:

Kane was fouled in the box - clear penalty. And I see nothing to indicate that Kane committed a foul previous to this (again, no slow motion replay available so I might change my mind if such video became available).

Sterling went down after soft contact - not enough for me to award a penalty but not a dive. Maybe this was a makeup call for the above?

In the end, say you're right - Kane not a foul, Sterling a foul. Or I'm right - Kane an foul, Sterling not a foul.

Either way a penalty kick would have been awarded.

In the actual game, a penalty kick was awarded. So... controversy aside both you and I agree that England deserved 1 penalty kick - and indeed they got one.

And scored.

I think that England were the better side in this match - and so deserved to advance.

Good luck to England in the finals... but I'm from the USA and really like Mancini and Italy. I'll be a fan of the game during this match, not routing for either side.

But the match should be good - and I very much look forward to it.

Is football a contact or a non contact sport? If it's non contact that means that every single time a player touches an opponent it needs to be a foul.

If it's a contact sport, then a foul or a penalty should only be given if contact was enough to bring the person down and that's that.

It's not a penalty if we are following the second rule.

Not sure what you're commenting on per-se.

Regarding contact... I thought that the Harry MaGuire yellow was total bullshit. Yeah he put his hand up during the header... so what? Mark Clattenburg explained that any hand contact to the face by an attacker during a head ball confrontation would be whistled as a foul by UEFA... but that rule seems both silly and dangerous.

Silly because it occurs naturally as a player tries to protect himself - and dangerous - because if enforced - a no hands allowed for protection rule simply means that violent head-to-head collisions are thus more likely.

Not sure how anybody can claim sterling dived there, you move at that pace, add in a sudden change of direction with moving obstacles to try and avoid and see if you manage to stay upright. I don't think its a penalty either though. We're back to this examining every frame for the slightest of touch and contact equals foul. No dive, no penalty. Let's be honest, if that was given against England (or City) they'd be nobody saying it was a penalty.

Whilst we will never know this, if it hadn't have been given I think we still go on to win anyway. We were all over them before we scored, it looked inevitable, they were dead on their feet and we had just added foden and Grealish and the energy of Henderson into the game and also had sancho and Rashford waiting if we required more, we wouldn't have shut up shop if we still needed a goal.

I'm hoping he has more of a 2013 Wembley experience than 2011 to be honest. He's done enough to keep his job for Qatar next year so he can go and win that one instead (unless we make the final).
