Keep Gareth and the tories. Shame the country didn’t keep Boris for you too. 2 fantastic leaders him and Gareth. People have no faith in this country! From 2 years ago ?
If anything, our youngsters from then have gained a couple years experience- we have relatively the same team and squad
I think even Boregate will have to drop him after that debacle. He’ll barely play a game for utd before the world cup as their manager has sussed him within 2 monthsSeems Southgate has backed Maguire and he will not drop him no matter how shit he is or how many game he hasn’t played just because he did well in the last competition the mans a two face clown
We were good to watch during the world cup 98 under Hoddle and actually genuinely unlucky in that, getting beat to an actual good side with 10 men. Unfortunately Hoddle was a fruit cake but we actually played with a bit of imagination then and a 352 that suited the players we had. It’s been 20 years of square pegs and round holes ever since. Emphasised by Scholes left wing or not playing and clowns like Sinclair and Mills playing because they fitted into the rigid 442 under Sven etc.Get what you are saying - it’s not pretty to watch and I agree (although 3-3 Germany is not to be scoffed at)
But don’t you think that’s more of an international football issue rather than Southgate? Is there many countries that play free flowing great football ?
I’ve watched Brazil, Germany, Italy in recent years and most games are drab, slow, and they’ve also had similar poor results and performances
Can you point to the last time England played attacking good to watch football ? Many will point to Euro 96 as the last time (pre social media) and even then we were poor against Switzerland, Scotland and drew with Spain 0-0 only winning on penalties before being knocked out by Germany. It was only really 1 game against Holland we was great, but we look back at that tournament with so much nostalgia because it was probably the last time all England fans put club tribal rivalry behind and we just supported them.
Do you really believe if we got Pep or Poch or any number of ‘world class’ managers, England would turn into free flowing attacking great to watch football ?
I think it would be more or less what we see now, international football is simply not pretty. Players lack cohesion as they’re not used to playing together, it’s slow, it’s boring - bar the odd match here and there.
After Southgate, the next manager will face similar abuse and vitriol- I truly believe it will never change unfortunately and I wish it would - but no chance in todays social media world
Its not ok though really. Imagine the confidence and morale of those City players if they all get left at home for a world cup whilst all their mates go off to a world cup without them. It would devastate them and no doubt have a knock on effect. I'd much rather they all went, did brilliantly well again and went far in the tournament and came home buzzing for the rest of the season.Maguire will be on the plane, so will the usual suspects. Selfish of me to say but if the city lads don’t go, that’s ok.
It would be a time to rest and recharge batteries for the rest of the season.
You make some good points but then there have been some wonderful international teams that made you fall in love with football. Brazil, the Argentina of Mario Kempes, Italy, the Holland of Cruyff, Denmark. It is possible when you have exceptional players and allow them to perform.Get what you are saying - it’s not pretty to watch and I agree (although 3-3 Germany is not to be scoffed at)

The goal where he just passes it straight to the German player and then gives away the penalty is something you might see at under 11's football. You just cannot accept that at top level football. Then you add the second goal to it and that has to be the final nail in his coffin. You can see it in his face as well, he isn't enjoying playing football at all and is under so much pressure he needs to be taken out of that situation completely.I think even Boregate will have to drop him after that debacle. I hope that included match tickets....Everywhere but Wales, not arguing at the price though, less than 20 quid return.
He will definitely go to the World Cup and start especially as Stones has an injury.he should be fit for Qatar but waistcoat must be shagging slabheads mum or somethingThe goal where he just passes it straight to the German player and then gives away the penalty is something you might see at under 11's football.
