England v Hungary | Nations League | Tues 14th June '22

Yes because that is the obvious rational to draw from this. You can't be tired because a country is at war (and yes I completely sympathise with Ukraine and think it's atrocious what is going on there). I ran a 10k after work tonight and I was tired, I suppose nobody can be tired anymore?

A lot of the City players have said the same thing, including Kev in the opening post of the thread, I suppose you think he's a tosser as well then?

Obviously players live a privileged life but they are still human, after a long season it's understandable that most of them are fucking knackered, especially those that have played in the toughest league in the world all season.
Cunts all the fucking lot

We need an experienced manager with a track record of winning trophies and has respect of players with big personalities and infuence , probably only half a dozen who fit that description , Pep , Klopp , Maureen , Ancelloti , Wenger , Mancini , and none of them would be mad enough to risk their reputation and the F.A. would be shit scared of some of them because they might upset the apple cart.
When they ignored one of the best managers ever in Brian Clough and then employed Don Revie summed up the stuffed shirts at the F.A. a bunch of old twats out of touch with the modern game and its support and that will never change.
In 2000 the FA appointed a fella in his mid-30s - Adam Crozier, who was tasked with trying to update and modernise behind the scenes. With zero football experience, he left after 2 unsuccessful years to head up all the UK's posties. He screwed that up as well, sowing the seeds for a disgraceful period of the Royal Mail when dozens of sub postmasters were accused of fraud. Wind the clock forward 20yrs and it appears the FA have progressed a couple of mm and, has to be said, done sweet FA about anything. You reap what you sow.

Friendly reminder that -

WE won Hungary 0-4 at their place and drew 1-1 at home when Grealish started. And Hungary side media praised Grealish's performance highly.

Southgate perhaps Grealish can start and perform well if you give him a left foot left back. Remember he saved you 3 times? 2 times vs Germany and 1 vs Hungary? Remember who carried the team up the pitch to get one point back after Luke conceded the penalty?

Well... perhaps you won't remember and hopefully you will be gone tomorrow morning.

Some Villa fan on Talkshite slagging off Stones & Walker. He will be watching Tyrone Mings every week! Cheeky ****!

Southgate takes the blame in a way by saying he chose a young, energetic team and rested a few of his usual starters and the lack of experience showed when things went against them.

Which is all well and good as far as it goes, but the starting line-up wasn't that young, they all play regularly in the Premier League, and half or more of them form a good core of players with either a load of international caps (Kane, Stones, Walker) or else may be relatively early in their international careers but have been regularly involved over the past year or two (Phillips, James, Saka, Bellingham to an extent). And the subs he brought on were either players who normally start every match, or multiple PL-winner Foden.

So it wasn't some experimental line-up heavy with debutants or young kids who've never faced that kind of challenge before. It was actually a fairly well-balanced starting XI in terms of experience and looking at some new faces.

And we can talk about the fatigue of a long season, but really the issue is tactical. It's always just 11 players trying to do the best they can with no real structure or plan, no actual left-back and no way to play through the midfield.

Southgate takes the blame for the team selection, but that group of players, fit and motivated and organised (all of which sits with the coaching team) could have won that match.
