England v Hungary | Nations League | Tues 14th June '22

Can’t wait for the Qatar World Cup. Can point out the rank hypocrisy of all the lemmings who will watch it whilst bitching about Abu Dhabi human rights, and I try to continue our traditional football calendar by watching some non league stuff.
Tonight is a bit of blow though. We could’ve speculated about the colour of Gareth’s waistcoat before each game and wonder how far we can progress before he got schooled by a Bobby Manc type manager.

Really fucking hope we don’t sign Phillips
A poor man’s Ray Wilkins God rest his soul.
Englands lack of good players in that position is a big part of the problem. We don’t have anybody in the position that can take control of games

Phillips and Rice are triers, no real outstanding qualities. They of suited to their teams fighting relegation or at best trying to get some sort of second rate European qualifications. Like they are with their current sides.

Nowhere near good enough to play a true top-level club and nowhere near good enough to control the midfield at top international level

Indifferent to international football. Main feeling is irritation that next season will be interrupted for the World Cup and concern that City players get injured.
Totally agree, I'd rather we get knocked out of the WC early. We're not going to win it and a couple of injuries/tiredness could screw up our season. Although of course most our players play for other countries so we're somewhere between a rock and a hard place.
