Looking forward to it too. As said upstairs, I think Lescott will completely blank out Balotelli's threat and have him in his back pocket until he, (Balotelli), gets frustrated and does something rather stupid.

If he starts Balotelli on his preferred left side of the attack he will mostly be up against Terry rather than Lescott.
Pirlo vs "Scotty" Parker has the potential to be a bit of a mismatch.

I can't see England winning unless we get an early goal and then defend for 80 minutes, our ball retention is shocking, this has to be one of the worst England teams ever.

Regardless of the result or what happens Mario will somehow be the centre of it all.
I said he'll either play a blinder, do a Ronaldo and try and get Rooney sent off or in turn he'll do something completely stupid and get himself sent off!!

the irish have played the italians a lot of times in recent years. there is nothing to fear with this italian side mind you they are as expected good at set pieces.
if england play a solid game i could see them muscling out a result. i expect a tight game but who knows with football- i m expecting a cracker and a possible revenge for england. if england get past this they would have to be the dark horse which is the best way to be in a tourny.
