If Hodgson insists on playing Rooney stick him behind Sturrage something like this!

__________Sturrage__________
__Milner__Rooney__Sterling__
___Gerrard_____Henderson___

Problem is that to a certain extent we already did. Certainly we only played at a higher tempo in short bursts, yet we still looked deadbeat in the last 15 mins. As you say there isn't a quick fix for that and if we have to play more intensive for longer we cannot cope

If England had the ability to string more passes together and controlled the tempo that would of helped.

True enough. Was that not an issue at the last 2 tournaments as well. Not too much improvement on show. No one is comfortable in possession

It has been a problem since 1966. The game has evolved but English football hasn't all that much.

The problem with England isn't their Technical ability. It's constantly playing shit players that are not good enough so the FA can make the maximum amount of money while pleasing their corporate sponsors. That and at the moment they're playing to direct which is down to bleeding woy and his tactics.

Out of interest, has Glen Johnson ever scored by cutting inside and shooting from 30 yards with his left foot? Because he does it at least 3 times every England game and I can't recall him even getting close

Trouble with sacking Woy who is going to replace him?

I hate Rednapp with a passion but he should be England Manager, would do a great job.

I hope we teach Sterling how to cross for Christ's sake. He got all these mad raving reviews for his positive gameplay and running, yet couldn't keep half his crosses inplay, let alone find the box or a team mate which essentially undid all his previous good work.

Rooney can stay the fuck away from corners as well after that horror corner.

Baines shouldn't be in the first 11 in my opinion. Granted Roy played a lop sided, unbalanced team and left Baines with less protection than Johnson and he should have spotted this then sorted it out, but I have always called out Baines for his suspect defending and last night was another example. And majority of his corners were shit as well.

Roy still doesn't his best 11, which will probably and ultimately see our end in the tournament at one stage or another but a positive performance. We need to learn our best 11 and finish our chances, and fast.

Not a major improvement. He is tactically worse than Woy and will not develop the game all that much.

Shaw wouldn't of been much of an improvement. The Italian's would of preyed upon his lack of experience even more.
