England v Italy

Rooney did well - fuck off Woy!

To be fair, Hodgson is not going to criticise publicly one of his players in the immediate aftermath of a close defeat to a technically superior side, is he?

No one expected us to do well this tournemant and we are unlikely to but I liked bits of what I saw tonight and in a couple of the friendlies.

Liverpool have got a couple of cracking players in Sturridge and Sterling.

He won't drop Rooney and Gerrard but with a bit of luck Gerrard will retire from international football at the end of the World Cup as will Lampard then let's see what they can put together.

I think we are still missing real top quality defensive midfielders and Johnson at RB and Baines at LB are a liability.

We should use this Wc to give players a chance and experiment.

I would bring in Shaw next match and Barkley.

He won't drop shrek so it would probably have to be for Welbeck.

I agree with you, I would actually drop rooney and play Barkley - rooney has never been the same since Euro 2004 - Baconchops saw to that by manipulating him into a team player that best served his purposes around ronaldo when he was at the swamp - the day rooney signed for them he became a shadow of the payer he could have been

He hasn't actually just said that ?

You can imagine the brief from the FA

"Roy, we're counting on the rag hordes to buy lots of England shirts with Waynes name on them, so it's imperative he plays and plays well in your eyes, if you know what I mean, wink wink"

"I compweetley understand bwoss, you can count on me. Or cant count on me if you think we'll win a game, hahahaha"

"Just play him Roy, you fucking spas..................................if only all the useless cunts we employed sold as many shirts as Wayne, Woy would make us fucking millions"

I thought that was a decent game of football. I thought pirlo was outstanding, Italy played well. They are absolute quality at taking the sting out of a game, and just keeping possession. England did well, baines was ineffective because that left hand side was a problem in the first half (Wayne Rooney), he couldn't get forward.

Starting Rooney needs to end. Enough has been said about it. Henderson on the bench with wellbeck, bring in Barkley and lallana. I'm not sure who I'd bring in for Rooney, possibly Milner and play with 1 striker.

Always a lot of negativity surrounding England, and justified over the years, but I thought a point wouldn't have flattered us tonight. Can't see us getting out of the group but we had a better mentality tonight than I've seen before. It's better to watch.

One last thing, 4/5 England players with cramp, 1 Italy player. Something wrong there.

technically superior my arse

that was close

our nice but shit manager gifted it to Italy

Woy " not afraid to drop Wooney" Hodgson.....
Right, now's the time Woy.... He cost us, no cover on the left, missed a glaring chance......
Rooney, the white Pele, seems he suffers from getting UP for games..... I can see a new post World Cup ad campaign for Rooney.. " don't suffer like I did, trying to get it up for the BIG ONE, take new " Get In" and end those embarrassing stains on your World Cup record"

He did with Barkely in one of the friendlies when he was probably our best player. Useless manager.

Balti you could put Pep in charge of our squad and he would not achieve much better - as gerrard said afterwards we tried our best - and we still lost with a 35 year old Pirlo dictating the play
