England v Italy

Sterling was gud in the 1st, but 2nd half he was frustrating to watch, never passed when he needed to and looked lost

Quite a few positives about the England performance but we desperately need a Shearer/Lineker type up front. In defence we need a Bobby Moore, even a John Terry would have helped out there. Wouldn't hurt to have a decent right back either.

A lot of youngsters on display in international terms so potentially in four years time we could be looking at a decent team as long as the kids don't stagnate or go backwards in their development. This World Cup will be a bridge too far for this squad.

My only real complaint apart from the positions up above is lack of ball control across the team as usual. How many times did an England player get the ball and instead of controlling it and moving play forward quickly it would bounce off their foot and they'd need a second touch to bring it properly under control :-(

England did ok not brilliant gerrard was fucking crap.
so was johnson and baines.
welkshit ran around a lot a bit like a puppy.
Sterling very good first half.
Greedy bsstard looked dangerous.
but the pube head was fucking terrible fair enuf he was on the left.
he was on the left cos hes shite everywhere else shouldnt play for england again but he will which is why I will get a sense of relief and enjoyment when england go out fuck you rooney

I was delighted when Super Mario scored - made some of the British media squirm I'll bet.

Rooney and Gerard were only there to make the average age respectable, they should be made to warm the bench for the next game to give them wake-up calls. Rooney's corner and pulling his golden chance wide, summed his contribution up perfectly - pathetic.
He was probably basking in the media drooling over his assist for the goal.

Wonder if Yaya will be practising that amazing Italian free kick that left Joe for dead and bounced back off the crossbar.

I am English by birth but my pick is Argentina!

Baines was left exposed all game but i dont blame Rooney for that as uts the manager who stuck him on the left where he is notbused to playing. Drop Wellbeck who only seems to dive for penalties but this is not Old Trafford and wont work and stick Rooney up front. Wiltshire was awful, says something when you question taking Henderson off for him
