He played well, Italy made troubles only in the left side where there was Baines.

If Hodgson isn't afraid to drop Rooney, then he should do so, he wasn't alone in under par performances, but it's a stick or twist scenario, I'd play Lallana or Milner over Rooney in the next game, we need a player that will track back and give 100% to the causeq

It's so obvious tat Rooney doesn't belong in this team. He is the problem not the solution. I was screaming for Milner to come on for Rooney from as early as the 10th minute. Those goals would not have happened with Milner on the left. But no chance of that happening because Milner is not a natural right back, so apparently that means he can't be picked. Rooney is shite, just a big name, not a big player. Lambert is better.

I think anyone would've been better than Rooney yesterday, apart from the cross for the goal, he really did do fuck all, his chance at redemption came with the opportunity to equalise, but screwed it wide..... He seems to be carrying a lot of weight on his shoulders,the white Pele tag and last World Cup headlines are like a millstone, Roy needs to step in, and drop him, give Lambert / Lallana/ Whilshire or Milner a start and we will get the results.

I think it shows how low expectations are when people think England played well last night. Italy were very poor and still didn't have to do much to win last night.
I don't rate Woy but the players at his disposal are average at best.
