Roy Hodgson has handed a first England call-up to Rickie Lambert ahead of next Wednesday's Teenage Cancer Trust International against Scotland at Wembley.
The 31-year-old Southampton striker bagged 15 Premier League goals last season and forms a forward quartet with Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck.
Manchester United's young winger Wilfried Zaha, who featured for the Under-21s at Euro 2013 this summer, is also in the 25-man squad and has the chance to add to the senior cap earned against Sweden in November.
Three Lions captain Steven Gerrard and Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere also return to the squad having missed the games at the end of last campaign against Republic of Ireland and Brazil.
Wednesday's game is the first time the two nations have met since 1999 in their Euro 2000 play-off.

What has he ever done in his short football career?
Oh, wait a minute, he plays for the rags. So that's all right then?
Just like the 'world-class' Jones, Smalling, Young, Cleverley . . . .
Do me a favour, Mr. Hodgson.

So you will just ignore the fact he played for England before then, before he had even signed for the rags when he was playing for Crystal Palace
Unless you are suggesting Woy has a magic 8 ball
Well apparently as the Sweden game is a friendly and so is this. What makes any player worthy of a call up during pre season. None of them have done much over the last 2 months other than shag birds and smokeraininspain said:BoyBlue_1985 said:raininspain said:If Zaha is picked in the squad it will be the biggest joke of all time.

I seem to recall he played about seven minutes against Sweden or somebody. That makes him worthy of a call up for next week's game?
