England vs Wales - Euro 2016 - 16/06/16

I felt nothing when Sturridge scored.

The constant hate against individuals has really taken the shine of things for me.

Fuck off Wales!

Credit to Hodgson today. He was bold and it paid off.

After the 4 months of poor form Sterling had at the end of the season I'm actually surprised he has been starting. There is only one way to shut his critics up and that is to start playing well and delivering more often. That miss won't have helped him today.

England were all about making possession pay today and even with loads they still didn't make the keeper work too hard. Much better than Wales though.

England will struggle when they play a side who won't let them have as much of the ball and who defend well. Wales were too deep and the left back and left mid had no control over Walker.

This 4 out of 6 third place teams going through is ridiculous anyway. They might as well not bother with the group stages!

I think England have looked pretty impressive over the 2 games. There is room for improvement but there are lots of positives.
In regards to Raheem, he had the chance to silence his critics, but fluffed the opportunity. Unfortunately he does that far too often and it looks like it is a mental issue as he has bags of talent. He is the Graeme Hick or Mark Ramprakash of the football world.

Is Jack Wilshire carrying a knock? If not then he should be walking into that team as he is head and shoulders Englands best midfielder.

I agree with what you wrote about England, but not about Sterling. Graeme Hich and Ramprakash were superstars and amongst the best players to have ever played county cricket. Raheem Sterling is nowhere near that.

This is 100% on Hodgson though, Sterling has been in no form for a long time and with a pretty talented team Raheem shouldn't have been picked. It might be better for him if he has a nice twenty minute cameo, scores a goal or makes an assist rather than the pressure of starting. It seems like the whole world is on his back at the minute and neither his club (past) nor country manager are doing him many favours.

England are better than Wales so a win was not a surprise - however,
Wales were managed poorly

Neither of them produced at the highest level though, which is rather perplexing considering the talent they had. That is the point I am trying to make in regards to Raheem.
