It was war and both sides see it differently but I don't doubt that there was probably some strategic intent to clear areas of potentially hostile Arabs. I'm sure the Arabs had their equivalent plan and in areas where they did make military gains they killed Jews that had surrendered. The Arab League implemented its own plan when it encouraged its members to expel Jews from thier countries nad, as I explained earlier, there were over 800,000 Jewish refugees, most of whom went to Israel and the majority of the rest to France. Once again, wrong on both sides but only one ever gets highlighted.
I think one of the basic points of disagreement between you and I on this is that you see this as an Israeli/Arab conflict whereas I see it as Israeli/Palestinian. I do not hold the Palestinians accountable for the many wrongs committed by Arab forces/countries, specifically Egypt and Jordan, supposedly in their name. I see the balance as strongly against the Palestinians whereas I could see how one might view the balance against the Arabs far more evenly.
Palestine was a British inception post ww1 annd the break up of the Turkish Ottoman empire

I get somewhat frustrated with the use of term 'antisemitic'. For me this term is emotive and hankers to the dreadful acts that happened many years ago by the Nazis. I just wish that the Isrealis would stop reacting in this manner when somebody disagrees with any aspect of their politics. We live in a democracy and we have the entitlement to agree and disagree to any political persuasion without prejudice.

Isreal is not surrounded by 100% extremist muslims who want to exterminate them to the ground. However, if we listen to their politicians, this is how they describe their situation. Many of Isreals neighbouring countries e.g. Lebanon, Syria and come to mention it Palestine has to some degree, a chunk of christians within their population - are they in a religious and ideoligcal war Israel - I very much doubt it.

The English are not "anti-semitic."

To say anything else is a slur on this country.

What point are you trying to make?
You were saying that it's an Israeli/Palestinian issue. bith are British, pretty much, made within the last 100 years
I disagree with that, but for the sake of argument I'll accept it and simply say that the conflict is less than a hundred years old so your point is...

It would appear that to not support Israeli actions uncritically, whilst not in itself anti-semitic means that you're a dupe to the Arab and Palestinian propaganda. Every Israeli action, however barbaric, however inhumane, and however illegally it flies in the face of international agreements or opinion is justified by historical circumstance or Palestinian intransigence. To suggest otherwise will be met by a cloud of obfuscation and irrelevance. Israel has proved itself to be a terrorist state and until it can be forced to accept a just settlement it will continue to do just as it pleases, which is to treat the Palestinians as less than Human.

I really hate Israel and I really hate this whole jewish attitude of 'poor me' to go alongside the paranoia and none stop complaining they do!

The arabs gave us Sheikh Mansour, what have they given us??? (other than wars!)
