Enough is enough

I suspect that the owners know that results tend to dictate what the media says.

I mean just compare this forum when we win as opposed to when we lose. Half the people on here say exactly the same things that the media have been saying.
Give over mate, it's a permanent fucking disgrace the way we are treated by the media over here.

The OP is spot on, it's pathetic and embarrassing the way the club put up with it.

Sure, I'm sick to the back teeth of the club being bad mouthed through every single media channel, but that includes Bluemoon. So on reflection I'll stick with feeling it's more than a little ironic that in a thread about how shit the media are we've got people saying they feel nothing for the club and are binning their season tickets. :/

Sums up my views

A cracking example. Right below this thread we've got this post.

It's no surprise that the media are finding it REALLY easy to slag us off right now. Virtually every other thread on the main board is full of people complaining about how shit Txiki is or Bravo is or how Pep looks like he might quit.

And we're complaining that the media are doing the same thing. :/

We are allowed to criticise, it's our club. You can criticise your own wife but if anyone else does it you stick up for them.

Criticism is fine but that's not what this is. It's personal attacks, belittling the manager, the club, the fans. It's taking quotes to of context and using them to form their pathetic agendas and the club sits by and tries to "win hearts and minds". This is what Bernard Halford told me when I spoke to him about this subject 4 years ago. Well guess what - it's not worked and we need a complete clean sweep of the PR function and some PR professionals hired to sort this out. The management at the club do not seem to be aware how this impacts on fans.

Since the Chelsea game I have been so disillusioned with football. The decisions at the end of that game were farcical and we suck it all in. I said at the time that this is probably my last season ticket after having one since the seventies. I'm completely fed up with the way we are reported and fed up with the approach City take with the press. Great post OP BTW and I agree 100%.

I agree it is a disgrace. But I don't think the owners will have much appetite to do anything other than change results to change the narrative. And as I say, how is it any different to the kicking Pep/Txiki/Bravo/Stones/Sterling are getting on here? A lot of the trash in the last 24 hours in the media could've been lifted almost verbatim from here.

Bit like some of our fans I guess

Yes but our fans aren't the CCO of a major football club are they?

Our fans are customers of that football club.

It is literally Vicky Kloss's job to improve media perception of the club.

In the past though Billy when the results have been good the coverage hasn't changed. In 11/12 that team was one of the all time premier league greats, big strong powerful and pleasing on the eye. We were still reported as a pantomime villain in United's way. Whilst United were literally playing tripe football, diving for penalties every game and using Young/Valencia to launch 40 crosses a game ala Stoke City.

I don't disagree, but surely that's the point of the forum, a place where people can vent their frustrations.

However, other than posting in a thread about the media situation, I can hand on heart say that it's gone beyond a joke now, we've tried the softly softly approach and it just isn't working.

For example, completely unrelated to anything on the forum but in my opinion sums it up, I drove to the butchers at 7.30 this morning and for 5 mins listened to whatever woman and bloke it was on Talkshite talking shit about Pep being a failure. I came in to the house, and whilst giving my son his breakfast my exact words to him were to explain how ridiculous it's getting - that was before I'd seen this thread.

It is incredibly frustrating to the point where it's becoming farce. City (and Vikki) are though TRYING to deal with it. Things have been said/done even this season, even in the last few weeks, to try and bring them into line. But results/performances aren't helping, the things Pep says aren't helping, and what we're saying as supporters isn't helping.

We're that person who tries way too hard to be liked by everyone so no-one apart from our family(our supporters) likes us and even they give us shit behind our backs aha.

Need to start taking less shit from the press etc, maybe that'll come with more success.. I mean Ferguson could have stabbed a journalist and that very journalist would have written an article putting a positive spin on it
