Enough is enough

Completely agree. I wish someone like Vicky Kloss would read some of these posts and see things from the fans' perspective at how we look so soft against the tossers in the media.

Every major organisation needs good PR, even environment destroying obesity pedlars like McDonald's tell the world they're ethical. Just employ the right bullshitters and make the media write what you want them to say, don't sit on your arse taking shit from all directions. Time to start calling these cockney rag media bastards out every fucking time and telling the world about all the brilliant things we do in the community and for young players and hospital visits for kids and how we've made the Prem more exciting than just 1 of 2 clubs winning everything for 20 years, etc etc.
She does.Her name is Karen7.

This is all out of perspective. The club cares about fans as much as - if not more - than any other club. Your original post about the media has turned into a rant about & against the club - you're as bad as the media!!! You provide the very billets for them to fire.

If you say so .

Please City fight them!!! I don't care what they try and do to silence us in the short term anymore it's a pisstake the season is gone no more free shots.

Let's remember that the jounalists are only fishing for clicks. Yes it's annoying to read the shit that's pumped out on a daily basis, but this is only to generate income from opposition fans who seek consolation in reading anti city stories. We know that we 're heading in the right direction both on and off the pitch. When we get a kicking from the press I remember Ghandi's quote "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win". With the arrival of Pep we've just moved into phase 3. This is the time to stand firmly behind the team. We know how this is going to end and so do the press.

Not wrong there pal, starts and ends on the pitch.

God help this thread, lol, and us in the media in general if we get tonked today!
You know, I agree it does start and end on the pitch, but I have a feeling Pep is a little "off." He is smart as a whip, of course, but I have the feeling he is "on the spectrum" (as we say in America!).

He always seems ill at ease, especially in close personal contact with people with whom he is not happy. He does the long stares, he fidgets endlessly, and he can talk a mile a minute when he gets going, but is slow and ponderous at other times, like it is a struggle. He seems unable to hide his emotions and sometimes lacks the filter to not say things...like "What the fuck?" at a live televised press conference.

I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV (not sure if that is an American joke or English?!) but I've always felt like he has a few characteristics of a savant/autism spectrum adult, or maybe he is bipolar, or even just ADHD? I don't know, but there's something about him that is not all there, or maybe there in too much abundance...TO ME.

Am with you mate. If bravo is picked and again makes mistakes and we get beat , pep will get pasted in the press. It's the uk they love to knock people off their perch. Always been the same.

However , performances and results start to improve on the pitch and bingo we will be golden boys again. I don't recall the press bitching about us in our first 10 Games.

The dodgy press has coincided with our dodgey form. Not saying they aren't kicking the boot in (as they love to) but I would prefer the club to silence the feckers by going on a 10 match unbeaten run , than banning media from the game.

They locked the entire press pack in the press room after the press conference two weeks ago and two City executives came in and basically gave them what for over their treatment of Pep.

The issue for me is that since Soriano/Txiki have come in, they themselves are completely unavailable to the press. The issues begin and end there for me. If either man were prepared to engage with someone in the press on even a semi regular basis I suspect some of the shit would stop. As it stands the powers that be are so far removed from the media that the media feel they can write what they like.

As a contrast, the likes of James Ducker, Sam Wallace, these guys have got Ed Woodward on speed dial.

Agree with a lot of this. As someone who has worked in comms / PR a long time then there is no magic bullet to this. Just banning any hack that steps out of line isn't a sustainable solution - as enjoyable as it may be.
For what it's worth my opinion is that bringing in the best manager in the world automatically brings with it the potentially huge story that he fails. Make no mistake Pep failing is a huge story - because it goes against what is expected and also due to huge swathes of the public wanting it to happen.
In comms you need to do horizon scanning (horrible term I know) and use it to your advantage. As Billy quite rightly says Soriano and Txixi being available would help us get through the tough times (which are inevitable and every club experience). What the fuck have these journalists got to lose by printing these stories? You'd have to have a damn good reason to go easy on the most successful manager in recent history having a tough time. Absolutely nothing to lose. We have nothing in our armoury at present to mitigate the tough times - that's our failing.

If I was to really criticise the club it's that the number of journalists that are on message seem to be decreasing. You start with one, get them onside, move on to the next. The fact it's been going in the opposite direction for a good few years now is damning.

Well said, enough is enough now, the lady in charge comes across as meek and timid tbh, her position need a personality, when i see her idling around she seems unsure and dordles basically. She looks like a hospitality manager not pr guru ffs. Sorry to those who know her but it is the hard truth. If people say 'oh but they do so much behind closed doors' bullshit, or they are doing it wrong then.

These journo's don't care coming to ours after a hatchet job, probably awkward giggles with that pr woman at worst for them.
If they want their bad news click bait let them get it elsewhere, ban them from the stadium, it is not like the English press do anything for us on balance is it.

I agree it is a disgrace. But I don't think the owners will have much appetite to do anything other than change results to change the narrative. And as I say, how is it any different to the kicking Pep/Txiki/Bravo/Stones/Sterling are getting on here? A lot of the trash in the last 24 hours in the media could've been lifted almost verbatim from here.

The differences are obvious.

1, bluemoon as it good as it is does not set or influence public perception.
2, discussion and criticism are balanced out by threads like this that want the best for the club. A balance is normally set.
3, idiotic nonsense is normally met with disdain and factual response.

The later 2 are effectively what we are asking of the club.
Correct the idiots with facts.

How the fuck has this thread being used by some saying it's City fans ( most of which are long standing die hard fans ) slagging the club off? They are genuine concerns about our treatment by the media over a NINE year period .

Pep walked away from Barca for continuously putting fires out non football related , well some of the shit he's taking are non football related - he's mentally week, he doesn't think he's upto the job blah blah blah.Hes the front of the club, character assassination.

History could repeat itself , the club need to wake up.
