This is crazy. He’s barely played any matches and hasn’t played any against competition like Bellingham. And that comparison stinks because Bellingham is being overrated too. This is a huge fee for potential. He could easily be another Renato

ya really? do you think when our scouts go to a dutch or portuguese league then they simply turn away because the opposition is not high competition. that is fucking stupid. a player does many things on the pitch you can notice no matter what the competition. even then what enzo did in CL games against the likes juve and PSG and what he did in the world cup are beyond anything bellingham has done.

The problem isn’t being interested in him — every team should be. But Chelsea have just paid finished product money for a player who is unproven. It’s fine to be excited about him as a player but that fee is insane

If fernandez gets done its £550m spent in 22/23
£250m in the summer on ave 6y contract (£42m amort cost in 22/23)
£300m in the winter on ave 7y contract (£21m amort cost in 22/23)
Sell gallagher for £40m and thats straight profit so only a net £20m cost

Kicker is the wages of the extra 15 players on the payroll at ave. £150k pw = £80m+ cost. Will do well to get that covered on top of what was being paid out last year.

Assume the ability to pay the cash is because boehly got external funding for the buyout so got that £1.75bn to burn?

Did he put that on the club or is that his personal debt? Someone will have to pay that back!
