Chelsea have just activated Enzo's €120m release clause! :-/
With the way the contracts are set up, I read somewhere that selling Gallagher alone for 45m pounds would offset our entire spend for 2023.

In terms of long-term amortisation, HOWEVER the potential issues will arise if you can't shift players & have to loan them out & partially pay wages.With the way the contracts are set up, I read somewhere that selling Gallagher alone for 45m pounds would offset our entire spend for 2023.
If Chelsea pick up (which I expect they will next season), it won't be an issue. If they don't & need to keep buying & need to shift expensive players on big wages, you'll have to sell at a loss or suck up having to pay squad players, whose squad places & high wages are blocking you getting new players.
It's risky business, but a gamble which will be worth it if it comes off. If it doesn't though.... \0/

Yeah that was always the risk. When you spend this much, if results don't start rolling in soon then you can get into a big problem very quickly.
But if we can sell Gallagher for 45m now, then maybe sell RLC for around 15-20m in the summer plus Ziyech 20m plus saving a ton on letting Jorginho and Azpi leave. It's a tough ask selling all these players but it can be done I think.
