Will you guys keep mentioning Cannavaro every time we talk about his height? That's my opinion and you know what? If he was playing for United for example people would speak here completely differently about him. It's just hard for you to admit that your expectations of him are unrealistic. If he is so good and has a bright future, why would the vast majority of the people here in the forum want Koulibaly or another senior CB and not give Garcia the keys as a starter and brin squad players to replace Ota and stones?. I wish I'm wrong about him

I mentioned cannavaro once. You made a point that you have to be tall, which isn’t true. Plenty of smaller/ not as tall defenders who were greats.

My expectations are that he’s a young player with loads of potential.he may make mistakes, but thats part of the process. He has the potential to be top class though. He’s 19 and playing games for one the best teams in the world, ofcourse he has a bright future

we need another senior centre back anyway as it looks like both stones and otamendi could leave.

Who’d have thought he’d get rinsed on the counter? If only someone had thought with 30 minutes to go the way the game was going quick to mark him and cover the inevitable counter? Maybe we even had a more attacking fullback than the fastest player on the pitch on the bench! Could not foresee them having a counter attack during the last 30 minutes.

The kid is a good passer with no pace strength or height. He just so happens to be 19 so people think he’ll improve like Nasti after a good performance in Madrid. He’s very limited though and always will be. Tonight was the manager’s fault though and completely not his.

Bit of a rough patch but he's 19 and needs to play through it. He will come out better in the long run.

Everyone seems to want youth players in the first team...right up until they start making mistakes. He's been no worse then any of our other far more experienced and expensive defenders.

Not his fault today but Im not sure he is the long term answer - If Barca want the kid then make them pay though the nose and hopefully we get some money to help rebuild the squad

The signs were there after the Liverpool game.

Did we learn? No. Arsenal just exposed the same weakness and Garcia lacks the pace to recover.

He's a bright prospect but will always be vulnerable against fast, strong players.

Garcia is an intelligent player but that only takes you so far. He is both slow and physically not strong enough - against the best forwards this is always gonna hinder him even if you play your best game. Lack of those attributes means that he can't afford any mistakes as he can't recover - this is not a good sign.

The best suited game for him is very slow tactical game since those physical attributes are masked then but I don't want our team to play like that. In fast high risk high tempo football you are always going to be countered against and rely on your defenders to match opposing attackers 1-1.

The opposite example would be Walker - constantly making mistakes but due to his pace and strength can recover a lot.

I thought he was quite good last night but he's raw and gets caught. He did twice against Nketiah at the Etihad when we played Arsenal. Luckily we got away with it that night, but Aubameyang is on a different level.
