I think that Garcia should look at Brahim Diaz's experience at Madrid.

No comparison. Brahim has never been a cantera player for RM and they do not emphasize promoting their youths, Eric is Catalan and come through La Masia

@Dobsy For most cules, we derive more pleasure from seeing cantera kids make it to the 1st team and flourish - even more so when they are Catalan. The club's identity is centered around this even if this board has done just about everything imaginable to erode that foundation

Out of curiosity, who were the last youth players to have a big career in the barcelona first team? Just can't really think of many for a long time.

Why do City wait until a young player is 12 months from leaving for nothing, esp the top young talent. Every other club in the world has a the players under contracts that require a fee, even if they only sign the contract to get their club a fee!

I think this is a done deal, he’s gone and we are haggling over price, because we are going to be made to bend over for a starting world class RCB. For me, he’s at least normally in the Ake price range. Because of the ticking clock, that might end up being €25M with add-ons and a sell on clause. If we sell Stones and Otamendi, that a massive unloading of wages, recouping of fees and the money to bring in the right WC RCB.

He a decent young player, but I don’t see Garcia as the long term World Class RCB for City.
24 months

They cannot afford to buy him now (at our asking price) but we won't want to lose him next year for nothing. He has been given plenty of playing time, so if he has no intention of staying beyond next season, then sell him this summer and cut our losses.

If Koulibaly signs, we go with three established central defenders and, say, Fernandinho, Sandler, Adarabioyo, and Harwood-Bellis in reserve.
Not seen HB play but if any of the others mentioned above and on current form Stones or Otto play more than a handful of games next season there will be no league title. Although still raw Garcia is streets ahead of the rest and personally I would much rather keep him for a season and let him run down his contract then sell him now for peanuts and depend on one of others mentioned.

A long time ago for a supposed club where youth means more. Where have we heard that before i wonder.
Kids of that quality come around once or twice in a lifetime.

It's taken decades for our academy to produce a quality first team player , since the 80s and the Paul Lake and Co era.
