Erik Lamela

If we were to play 4-3-3, would he be the most advanced of a midfield 3 or play wide in a front 3? Also how much do we reckon he would cost?

Right of front three. Would probably cost around £22m-£25m.

Only thing I can think of is he would be building towards taking over from Tevez when he leaves next year.

Never would play in the midfield 3 as he is much stronger in the front 3. The biggest problem is not the fee, it is more Roma agreeing to selling him which they have pretty much stated they won't ... this is becoming a little like De Rossi saga by the day.

Then again, Gregucci is more than likely there to see both Marquinhos & Lamela.

Thanks mate, as good or more potential type player?

More goals, slightly faster but not as good at dribbling.

He likes to cut in from the right onto his left foot. Like Adam Johnson did.

He reminds me more of Frank Lampard when he was scoring 20 plus goals a season for chelsea. Natural finisher from 20 yards out. Scores headed goals and is very composed infront of goal when inbetween the line of opposition defence and goalkeeper.

Just turned 21 and has 15 league goals to his name from midfield. Sign him up.

His YouTube videos are a lot different to how he actually plays. When he played at River Plate in Argentina, he was a classic no 10, and thats his natural position - but like many argies moving to europe they get shifted out to the wing, but he arguably just as good in that position - he can play anywhere in advanced midfield. He is a very, very skilful player, but has rarely showed it since moving to Roma. He's going to be a VERY good player.

Manchester City have bid rejected for Roma starlet

Roma have turned down a €22 million bid from Manchester City for the services of Argentine wunderkind Erik Lamela.

City have been keenly tracking Lamela for some time now, who they feel could give them the edge in next season’s title race in the Barclays Premier Leauge as well as in Europe.

TuttoMercatoWeb believes that despite the rejected bid, Manchester City will return with a higher offer in the coming weeks for the 21-year-old.

Lamela joined the capital club in the summer of 2011 from River Plate after their relegation from the top flight for an initial €12m, settling into life in Serie A with a promising first season.

Currently, Lamela is enjoying a fantastic second season in Italy with 15 goals to his name thus far, scoring his latest in a man of the match performance against Siena on Sunday in a 4-0 win which also included an assist on the Giallorossi’s first goal of the match.

Lamela’s current deal at the Stadio Olimpico runs until June 2016.
