No, both were/are better than Lamela.
Look Fiorentina is using 3-5-2 system and Savic started 4 matches as a central CB (against Bologna, Lazio, Genoa and Milan) and they conceded only 1 goal in those games!!! I think it's fair to say there's a huge, huge, huge difference between Seria A and Barclays Premier League.
