Slightly off topic but I can't help noticing people talk abot players being "world class" all the time. If this phrase is to be used surely there should be a definition of world class. I'm sure the red tops will be calling Phil Jones world class, stupid I know but there you are.
For what its worth I've always considered a fair definition as being someone who would be part of a game between the best two teams in the world with the best and second best goalkeepers, full backs etc. alternatively someone who would walk into any top side in the world.
If this is not defined the statement has no meaning.

Please redirect this post if it should be elsewhere(the Nasri world class bit brought it to mind).

Good point.

I would say City's World Class players are : Kompany, Yaya, Silva, Aguero, Tevez.

Tevez can't even get in our team, he wouldn't get in the rags team, Higuain and Benzema's better than him, as for Barca no chance.

Yes, at the moment. But based on his ability, history and clubs he would fit into the category of world class. There could be all sorts of reasons he cant get into the team now but that doesnt mean he's not world class.

Tevez has not had a great season for scoring goals but his overall contribution has been quality in a team which hasn't been functioning as it should, & when he is in goalscoring form, the combination of goals, skill & effort adds up to much more than Benzema or Higuain can produce.

Lamela is pure class and i think he will be the first big signing marqinhos can play left back centre back and attacking fullback he could probably play defensive mid and im wondering is this where if we do sign him mancini may play him.think it will take 20 mill plus for lamela and ten to fifteen for marquinhos.

About right on the prices for these 2 gems.

Lamela is absolute talent and has potential to become in the top 10 players in the world. marquinhos looks rapid, athletic (not bulky) and more of a technical defender than brute.

If true, you can tell where Txiki & Mancio want city football to be heading with them looking at these 2 players seriously and knowing the pair could cost around £35M+

Would be Top drawer as they've both been class for Roma and if they had Silva, Aguero, Kompany and Yaya with them they would excel even more.

Does anyone know how likely or TRUE us being after these 2 is?

What the press have worked out from Mancini watching Roma/Sampdoria is that we're after Lamela, Marquinhos, Icardi, De Rossi, and Obiang, plus Mancini is discussing the Roma job. :)
