Not sure how a counter-attacking player would suit the team that averages the highest possession in the league and routinely faces parked bus defences. Being fast doesn't really help that much when there's no space to run into, ask Raheem Sterling
We scored loads of counter attacking goals with Sane and Sterling in our line-up.We don´t do that anymore, there really is no speed anymore

Sterling either trips up or runs into defenders. We still get counter attack chances, we’re just absolutely wank at them. Mahrez on one wing, a slow false 9 and sterling that falls over at the first hurdle. It’s one area we can improve on.

Sterling hasn't got any slower and Foden is absolutely rapid. It's not because we don't have pace in the team, it's because we don't play that way anymore (and our opponents are happier to sit deeper it seems, especially if we don't score early and force them to come out of their shell a bit).

Exactly, we have no pace. Our football is beautiful, but it does irritate me seeing counters getting wasted due to the lack of explosiveness up top, we just end up passing it back.

We really miss David Silva in transition. Also, for someone who tore teams to shreds in a counter-attacking Leicester team, I have no idea why Mahrez so routinely makes the wrong decision when counter-attacking for us, it's extremely frustrating

Foden is the only player capable of playing counter attacking football. Sterling has the pace but that’s wasted being out on the left, just ends up losing the ball.

We get plenty of counter attacking opportunities; we're just particularly wasteful in those situations. Look at Mahrez vs Leicester just last week for instance. And what's the assumption that Haaland is a counter-attacking player? We haven't seen him against enough parked bus defences to make a claim either way.

Sterling should go back on the right and Foden on the left. Mahrez was brilliant last season, but I just feel we need to change it up.

As soon as Mahrez broke free and I knew he’d be caught out for pace.

can´t compare Fodens speed with Sane´s...They ahve always sit deep, there are plenty of teams that attack us and we don´t use our counter attacking chances as we used to.
