There are members hanging around here who said the day before Grealish was announced that he had chosen to stay at Villa, “heard from a mate who is close to someone”. Who’s to say who really knows someone or doesn’t? As a journalist, I learned early on never to dismiss anyone’s potential to be a good source

I believe City will sign Haaland for 2 reasons. 1) he's the best young striker on the planet and a perfect fit. 2) he has a buy-out clause, and we all know how much the club loves a buy-out clause.

For what it’s worth, I heard from someone (who is unquestionably close to the board) that called the Grealish move back in April also said Kane was nailed on. This was a matter of days before the “staying” announcement. Something drastic changed. This fella is reliable - it’s all done and dusted, no reason to pretend.

I think we have already figured out that City were given indications from Kane’s “camp” that were misleading. And in the end, Kane was the one who pulled the plug supposedly

It’s a done deal to us , has been for months , we was hopeful of getting it wrapped up for this January but to keep all parties happy it’s now looking inevitable that we will have to wait till summer , the media will make a big scene of the wages he will get paid , but he’s worth every penny, plus we’ve offloaded players in the last 18 months to fund him and his wages.

I don’t think that’s what the poster meant

But sometimes they are done months in advance. Bayern for instance does this sometimes. Like with Upamecano, who agreed to a move in February, and was announced
