Yes, I've heard the formal party line.

I'm sure he Did want him to an extent. Not enough though, if he did, no way some 30m of a difference would have stopped him arriving. Not with Aguero having just left, no real strikers in the squad, and even Khaldoon stating Aguero would be replaced. If Kane was indeed the one and only, and we believe that he wanted us, the club would have made it happen.

Did Levy fuck not want to negotiate, he was inviting bids all summer and leaking figures he would accept. And if you go with what was claimed, a deal would have been done if we had gone to 130m.

Pep didn't want him that much.
Why listen to sources, interviews, hell pep himself who said in press conferences that he wants Kane (something he never does) when we have your gut feeling

kane was our main target in the summer but levy and spurs want around £200million and city was in at half that.
then we offered £130million and spurs and levy did not pick up the phone ? for me city shown their hand far to early and levy had us by the bollocks and city without a striker looked desperate.

i do think city dodge a bullet and it left levy and kane looking like fools ? why on earth do you turn down £130 million for a 28 year old hahahaha. i know now they would take the offer even levy would drive him up to manchester

I know, that is what I am doing, that is my feeling on it.

As I say, I'm sure he Did want him. Just not as much as it was made out on here and in the media. Not as the one and only must have. Otherwise, the club would have tried a lot harder and not walked away with over a week left in the transfer window.

The fact that it is halfway through the transfer window now, when he could potentially be cheaper and the new manager could use the funds, and the club haven't gone back in, only further reinforces that for me.

Imo, he wanted him, as the best option available that summer. No more than that. And not at all costs.

My feeling and opinion.

Pep said he wanted him in an interview. Pep also said, he was more than happy with the squad without him arriving.

I’m not sure regards the offers etc. but I do agree wholeheartedly that, if we were keen but missed out then yes, we did dodge a bullet.
I didn’t want us to employ him then and with every day he gets older I want us to sign him even less.
