How do release causes work? Basically everyone meets the £66m and the player decides or can a team offer more and be ahead of the queue?
If you think every transfer needs 3 signatures, selling club, buying club and player. Then a release clause means that once a buying club offers that amount then the seller must accept so that is 2 of the 3 done. Still needs the player to sign though. A transfer involves the termination of the old contract and terms for the new one. A release clause doesn't say anything about what wages a player might want or how long the deal might be. So still lots to agree.

A bit interesting that Jan Åge Fjørtoft, who is close to team Håland, says he previously felt Hålands plan was to first go to Spain, then England, but that he now feel its very "equalised" and its very open to where he will go. He thinks Håland himself have not decided yet. Sounds like good news to me. Guess we will find out soon!
