It would be perilous for his career if he ends up at Chelsea or United. Both clubs track records on these signings are awful. De Bruyne/Salah at Chelsea and Pogba/Di Maria at United.

No coincidence that players always thrive once they get out.

no idea (and Im not sure Im even right) but from the peopel who knowmore about this than me as I understand it, Dortmund would lose at least 30m if they tried to hang onto him for another season and if someone comes in and matches the release clause for this summer then they have no power to sop him leaving I believe

Go look at Tolmies and Billyshears posts about it...they understand more

I've honestly seen nothing in the media.

I've heard people here guess and speculate. I Have seen dortmund claim there isn't one, and throw about various figures they would accept. Which, if there was one, they would use different wording.

So as much as I would love to beleive there is one, I just can't. But will he happy if this ever gets aleven a remotely credible claim.

I understood it alright mate. I just questioned whether your comment was valid/accurate. Sorry maybe I should have worded it more simply for you.

And it's not *my* source either pal. I merely noticed the articles and asked what peoples' opinions were. I wondered if claims that a deal is more or less done with Madrid, held any water or not. That's all.

There’s a generation of Bluemooners who came before you who will hold claim to that don’t worry. My username’s been bastardized in far worse ways down the years.

Its Chris Wheeler who wrote about the release clause in the Mail exclusive he did after United’s Milan game the other week. He basically said United briefed that they weren’t in a position to pay 90 million pounds in one go.

It’s worth mentioning that the Catalan press said a few weeks back also that there’s a clause this summer.
 
I think we are the only club with the cash to pay upfront this summer, the others will try payment plans and that does Dortmund no good. Ultimately though it will be the lads choice but there is nothing more we can do.
