Erling Haaland

Drogba used to get away with flinging people to the ground when 1 on 1, attacking players in control of the ball are given a little more leeway in terms of shoulder barges/pushing and rightly so I think. For me the one on Dias is definitely no foul, Dias tries to engage with a player a little too far away & moving away from him and gets shrugged off. Some refs may call the on on Upamecano but it would be incredibly harsh.

ok Haalands groupies, its clean, sorry. go on
I have given your argument a fair shake. Rewatched it. I searched on twitter and youtube comments to see if I could find ONE person making the same claim as you. The game was watched by millions of people and I couldn’t find a single one calling it a foul
And you find the easy way out, calling us “groupies”. Shows how weak your point is. Have a nice weekend though!

His body strength is indeed brilliant, and the hard work had seemingly been done, yet he makes it even more special by turning back on to his left, the percentages to then miss is far greater, coming back into traffic.

It actually leaves the goalkeeper flat footed, as he is expecting Haaland to take the shot on immediately.
How confident are you Tolm that we will sign him? Besides your updates here I'm ignoring all the media bullshit about it cause they have no idea.

I'm going to quietly note that I have a big question mark in my mind over the long term prospects of outstanding young strikers noted for their feats of strength. Rooney. Adriano. And many, many others falling far short of that. They have an explosiveness in them at that age that can turn into a leaden quality all to quickly.

Defenders and coaches don't know how to deal with new strikers at first. And moreover, goalscoring is a confidence game. Anyone can look a genius in the middle of their breakout season. Rooney never topped his first tournament, did he. Bumping older guys around for fun, and then, slow death as he turned out to be a shite goalscorer. Michael Owen done at 26. And those two are miles ahead of many other examples. Alan Smith. Andy Carroll. Ronaldo. Injuries, loss of form, loss of freshness. Not being the suprise package, not being the cherry on the cake, not being feared, different team, different situation.

Seriously. Something in my mind is screaming at me. Strikers with the best pedigree look a bit different, and often take time to emerge.

He's worth 100m, possibly. No more. No way. Not at this stage.

Adriano is a different story to the others. He had the world at his feet, and was well on his way then his Father died and it wrecked him. There's a heap of good articles about his downfall around, it's a tragic story.

Haaland in our side will be set for years. He'd be in the perfect place for him, under the perfect manager to develop him properly.

Haaland will have no doubt seen the stormer that Torres just had against the Magpies and resigned himself to joining Chelsea instead. But like a good blue, before going to bed he will have logged into his rando account on Bluemoon and removed all of his negative posts regarding Torres first.

One of the most fascinating tales in football. I have at least three colleagues who have written extensively about him, his career and his personal life. It’s almost Shakespearean. Can’t be a point of comparison to almost anyone. Even Ronaldinho pales by comparison in terms of fascination

Yeah, I know the Adriano story. I remember pundits who thought he was a joke when he broke into the Brazilian team. I always liked him.

You're right to call me out, as he's actually not that relevant to what I'm saying, but the story is another of a hundred reasons people should be cautious about U21 players who burst onto the scene in devestating style. At whatever level.

Remove Adriano from my post, and insert Jonah Lomu.

Gone a bit quiet this one, hasn’t it?

something’s afoot
Was going to post the same, it has gone very quite with this transfer, considering he is the most sought after player on the planet, that's strange, either he is staying where he is or a deal is done.
