Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

4 games into the season. How can a team be tired already?

There was no hint of tiredness against Leipzig.

Pep used all his subs.

No other PL manager has said their players are tired already.
For the first time in his City career, he played an unchanged team for THREE games before Leipzig!

Like everyone else in the world asks repeatedly, if the players are so tired, why not get them fitter in preseason and use every sub every game to rest those that need it?

We have the deepest squad in the League, yet have the only manager in the League who is constantly harping in about tiredness.

Ready excuse, just in case???

In the era of 24/7 media spin, you SHOULD have the self awareness not to say such things, especially when they’re part of a larger meme used against your own fans.

There were many, many more positive ways to express the same sentiment, and I grant you English may be a fourth or fifth language for him, but it smacks of lack of PR awareness.

Nothing anyone says anymore disappears. Everything is available forever. Anyone who walks in front of a global TV audience must understand that their words are being broadcast across the world and saved for posterity in the internet by now.

Speaking of Pep smiling when he said it, I’m reminded of the game where the interviewer asked him why he didn’t look happy after the win. He made a cartoonish big grin and said “I’m so, so happy!” He knows!

Stay until the end and you’ll catch the one I’m talking about! ;-)

The spin is by our own fans who can't read or interpret straightforward respectful comment. Your support is being taken seriously and some choose to be offended

That vid is a perfect example of why words are less important than body language when it comes to communications.

Why is he commenting on ANYTHING about fans, attendance, or any off the pitch issue…unless it is to simply be positive?

”The fans were excellent!”
”I‘m proud to be the manager of a club with such intelligent football fans”

Its not hard…and it doesn’t even need to be true!

Waiting list fans can go for £30 but most won't.

They are also pick and choosers.
No they aren't, they are not "hoarding" a seat they won't use for the less glamorous fixtures.

If a waiting list fan wants to go they will buy a ticket and use it.

I do not agree with selling the same seat twice when other seats in the ground are available.

Maddest idea we have ever come up with the S/T resale or whatever it's called.

19 days a year a S/T holder has to priorities, 19. How hard is that to do!

That's right Pep, we all don't turn up every now and again. But I and other City fans won't make an issue out of it.

Manchester City supporters have been left stunned by Pep Guardiola's team selection for the Champions League final.
I think that is what irks me, a manager should not criticise his own fans.
I think we all suspect that Pep has a big ego, maybe the empty seats affects that, like he feels people are not appreciating HIS work and HIS level of football genius.
The trouble is he is playing right into the hands of our clubs haters. Now we are even more "plastic" not a real club etc etc.
Im very annoyed he felt the need to do this.
He has form too, with the booing of CL anthem. He shouldnt have got involved, he's only here for a few years, were here for a lifetime. And we dont need our manager giving our detractors a leg up.

Bang on with that analysis, he’s very egocentric and hyper sensitive about how anything negative may impact upon how He is perceived externally, but he’s not that bothered about perceptions of him from within the club IMO.

Another example is his attitude towards the derby games - pisses me right off and I’m already dreading his pre match interview which will be another rag eulogy. shame as I love his footy style and he is a serial winner.
