Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

I thought it was the best atmosphere in while last night, it helped it was Leeds but I've kind of found that midweek league games tend to have a better atmosphere

I didn't think the Leeds fans were particularly loud, but they did look like they had just stepped out of 1973
Only time i heard them was at the end of the game and 7-0 down.

Der Der Der winning at the library.

Great up in SS3 helped by having half a dozen in town pre- game.
Stuck record time.

If noise comes from SS3 it spreads quickly both down and sideways, creating what we had last night: the same song being sung everywhere most of the time.

The cheapest and easiest sticking plaster fix for atmosphere problems would be relocating 1894 to the back of that stand. 50-100 lads at the back under the roof is all it takes to get a stand going much of the time.

That was how many tickets were sold, the club announced about the same number on Saturday too.

I reckon there were about 43-44,000 on Saturday, and about 48-49,000 last night.
I think you’re a little low on those, maybe 45-46k Saturday and 50k last night.

Although I wasn’t in the ground myself last night but saw a good few images.

Just had a read of their main forum, (Leeds) they have brought the myth that they are the best and loudest fans in the world plus all the usual jibes
I don't get some of the hype about them. Sure, they're louder than Fulham or Bournemouth and games between City and Leeds always have an edge as there's loads of history between the fans going back decades but they're a one club city who recently went 6 and a half seasons without selling out a single game at Elland Road. Granted, they tend to travel everywhere in decent numbers and on a good day they can be loud as fuck but so can any other fanbase. And any other fanbase can sing like fuck out of defiance when they're 7 goals down ('Boro away in 2008 being a prime example), but that's the last 2 visits to ours now that I felt they weren't as good vocally as they keep proclaiming to be, and that pervious visit was an FA Cup tie where they got 6000 tickets. Now being in 115, I accept that I don't always get a good overview of what the away fans are doing in the top 2 tiers as the noise doesn't tend to travel too well down to where we are but I can safely say that the Leeds fans in the lower tier were getting battered vocally by City fans on both sides of the segregation line. As someone else pointed out, for all the talk of our atmosphere being shit there seem to be an awful lot of instances of visiting fans getting wound up by City fans singing and taking the piss on either side of the divide.

I don't agree. Attendance is tickets sold. I don't care what the crowd is anyway. Top of the league.
You do care along with the very insecure mob who liked it clearly.

It is no shame if 10% of fans, or more, who bought tickets, don't turn up under current circumstances.
