Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

Honestly, feel the corner section is the better area for an atmosphere to come from, might be worth relocating>

it is impossible, there arent blocks of season card seats available, it is only odd random seats that are spare in that corner.

a relocation where big groups of fans could locate to will only come about if we extend the north stand.

relocate is something always brought up, it isnt as easy as it sounds.

Quite a few of us agree that a corner does seem to spread noise well, take celtic for example. Just isnt possible to do though.

Thanks lol - I am - well there's a few of us who 'run' 1894 and I'm included in that - I'm one of the founders of the group.

That's why I'm always spamming this thread haha.

Manchester33 is right in all of the posts, as well as that like he said there are about 7 of us founder 1894 members, we are in our 8-9 year now.
Only by doing it this long and trying every possible option to improve the atmosphere do we know what works. A good group of fans that will sing, like the moments we get in 115 / 116 / 114 after a goal, everybody joins in. This works and creates enough noise for the whole stadium to join in.
But like man33 said we stand in the middle off 115 and a lot of the time fans just dont sing when we do.

A good example of how it is fans response that counts is the trial we have done in the past for UCL games. The club give us access for grouped spare seats in 115 near the front ( these are what is spare due to cup scheme ). We have the chance for fans to buy 100 seats together and group up. We put out to 1000's ( even post on BM ) of fans to say come and group up in 115 to sing. The last time we offered this 28 fans came forward willing to move for that game.
I know 100 fans grouped isnt going to ring round the stadium, but 100 singers plus what is already in 115 that sing would get it going, it really doesnt take much.

Real credit to the 1894 group, you work very hard to get things going, if only the average fan did anything like the same

Moving isn't very easy if on the cup scheme - when I tried to move once the the response was "you are not guaranteed your seat for the cup scheme", moving is too much hassle under normal circumstances.

Do you go to away games ? Why does it work so well there but not at home ? Is it just that “civilians” are more likely to join in having made a day out of it and had a few beers on an away day whereas home games are often just squeezed in around normal life ?

if i can say something, when we go away there will be about 3k fans at the game, some1 starts a song and every one joins in, and it is loud because every1 is in the same area, but at home people are spread about, you get the lads singing in the south stand but not every 1, then you have the east stand lower and some sing but in the 3rd tier not so much and then family stand who dont sing or not many, but thats why away is good and home not so good unless its against them or liverpool, and it will always be like that, and its like that at every ground

Did anyone notice the anthem all the Sporting Lisbon fans sang just before kick off? It was to the tune of 'My Way' by Frank Sinatra. I was really moved by it and made me think that we are lacking that anthem before kick off that unites the whole crowd and gets the atmosphere going. Blue moon doesn't give that buzz for me personally. I just envy the anthems that Liverpool, Leeds & West Ham fans sing as the teams enter the pitch.
