Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

Middle class fanbase waiting to be entertained. That’s the Champions’ League group stages and early knockout rounds. Eventually these half n half scalf-wearing foreign wankers get binned off by the ‘loyal’ City fans for the latter stages.

The loyal fans were there and so we’re done tourists / JCLs.

atmosphere was not great tonight but can't be too surprised considering the oppositions tactics. im looking forward to the away leg now. away days are always class

so we only sing now if the opposition play attacking football? It just seems like excuse after excuse as to why we can’t sing.

Opposition tactics, not enough away fans, nerves, pre match entertainment. When can we sing?

even when we have those things most of the time it’s still poor

Piss poor atmosphere from our fans on what should have been a big night. Poor “leadership” from the singing areas, coming out with the daft clapalongs at pretty much every moment when the team needed lifting.

I agree. Sometimes I don’t understand the chants coming from the south stand. We go 1-0 up and I often hear the Dzeko song. Rarely ever hear the songs people will join in with. Hey Jude for example.

no doubt I will get criticised, but as you say they lead the ground. Song choice has a big impact on that

The fact of the matter is that an extremely large number of City fans just do not get exited about the Champions League (stupid title).

Now the Premier League is a different matter, the atmosphere against our nearest and not so dearest a week or two back was exceptional.
