Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

If you couldn't make out the wording on the banner was Blue Moon, you need glasses.

Sometimes I do get frustrated with some people on here, because no matter what the club does, they get criticised for it. If the club didn't do anything, they'd get criticised for that as well. Let's be honest, the club can't win.

1894 have got 10 new double stick flags. If anyone can be arsed holding one up on Sunday (I won't hold my breath), whilst the regaular 1894 lads wave the large flags, feel free to help. 1894 will be stood on the concourse at the back of 115. Come over and have a chat. It's not hard and you'll only need to hold the double stick flags up for 5 minutes before the start of the game, and then bring them back to the back of 115.

Tomorrow will be a new day. And maybe we'll get a bit more positivity about what the club is trying to do to improve the atmoshere, along with proactive fans, which includes displays.

Good night.:-)
Sorry that’s bollocks, not digging anyone or the club out just saying my thoughts.
For starters I was sat front row Colin bell lower and nope couldn’t make it out.
The banner was shite, did you think it was a great design ? The Pep banner was a belter, some thought went into that whilst the big showpiece one was a joke.
Iam sure the atmosphere will be better Sunday or at least I hope it will.

If only the people who come on here moaning about the atmosphere sang up last night, it would have created a better atmosphere than we actually got.

There was a pissed up French, AC Milan fan, sat behind me in 209 who thought it was funny that I sang on my own. To his credit he joined in with a few chants / songs.

Don’t expect our atmosphere to be any better at the weekend unless you sing our songs. I reckon most of the people who complain about the atmosphere only get behind the lads if we are 2 goals up with 5 minutes to play.

I was next to the away fans and they were pretty much mute all game, the sporting fans were louder and seemed to bring more people and they were 5-0 down! It’s hard to sing and get riled up when it’s attack vs defence and their fans seemed the same.

Middle class fanbase waiting to be entertained. That’s the Champions’ League group stages and early knockout rounds. Eventually these half n half scalf-wearing foreign wankers get binned off by the ‘loyal’ City fans for the latter stages.
I'd say the quarter finals are "latter stages" and their were a lot of half 'n' half scarf wearing wankers there last night.
The opposition strangling the game didn't help, but the best team in the world only managing two shots on target in 90 minutes (BBC stats) also put a dampener on things.
The idea of a joined up singing section didn't work as the middle section was full of people who aren't normally there.
There's an apathy towards the CL due to the shit UEFA have thrown at us over the past decade. And fans know while it's the most prestigious trophy in club football it's also the most corrupt (see the state of the "structured" draw). But it's also the trophy the club/owners want to win. I'd sooner win the PL, but I don't set City's priorities.

People getting to hung up about last night. It was a tense horrible game and that naturally impacts the way the crowd are. If we'd scored early then im sure the place would of been bouncing, but athletico just suck the life out of games. Also thought the banners were great and loved the pep flag as well. Well done to the 1894 lads as always and kudos to the club for doing the huge banner in the NS.

Sunday will be a completely different atmosphere though, its going to be rocking, tense, explosive, complete different animal of a game to last night.

I was in block 233, it was full of day trippers (Madrid fans also). Whether we like it or not, that's what we'll continue to get. It's what successful teams attract.

Better than empty seats, but how do one-offs get tickets? Is there a free membership scheme (ie not Citizens)?
