This is what is needed, it will make a real difference I'm convinced...make it happen City !There big stand behind the goal helps a lot with atmosphere hopefully we can do the same thing when they start to do work on the north stand
Fans leaving early doesn't surprise me really, the match day special tram turned up 20mins after the final whistle! Why isn't their 4 trams lined up waiting?
Has the plan to develop the North Stand not been shelved ?There big stand behind the goal helps a lot with atmosphere hopefully we can do the same thing when they start to do work on the north stand
I don’t know how long it takes to couple/decouple double header trams, or whether it takes an external engineer. So the following all depends on whether the process can happen.Because the Etihad isn’t on its own branch line. They’d block trams going to Ashton.
I did try to get this going in SS3 but had no takers...Super Jackie Grealish chant needs sorting out... Made my fuckin arse wink that proper cringe worthy!
Away fans dont seem to struggle creating an atmosphere in the existing south stand when it's been handed over for previous cup games. We have the wrong type of match going fans to create and atmosphere not the wrong type of stadiumThis is what is needed, it will make a real difference I'm convinced...make it happen City !
He plays a blinderI did try to get this going in SS3 but had no takers...

Far too many day trippers nowadays were no better than the rags unfortunately (I say that with a heavy heart)Away fans dont seem to struggle creating an atmosphere in the existing south stand when it's been handed over for previous cup games. They have a third track between the Etihad and the Velo stop, easily get two double units on there. Then into the Ashton platform at Picadilly (like yesterday) then back up to the Stadium between normal Ashton trams. Keep shuttling say three double units for 40 minutes at about the 80min time on the game clock. Only stumbling block is Merrell Street which they could close to traffic coming out of town. Something similar for fans going to Ashton as they have a third rail the stadium side of Picadilly station so they could run more trams back through the stadium to Ashton.Because the Etihad isn’t on its own branch line. They’d block trams going to Ashton.
Noticed on the way back to the Vic pub a tram with 4 carriages half empty going towards Town, and then one going towards Ashton from the ground with 3 carriages absolutely rammed?I don’t know how long it takes to couple/decouple double header trams, or whether it takes an external engineer. So the following all depends on whether the process can happen.
But if it is done via the driver, why not have quadruple headers from Ashton , (passengers can only get on 1st 2 carriages).
When it arrives at stadium, passengers fill up 1st 2 carriages, (whilst decoupling), 1st 2 carriages pull away, and the 2nd 2 carriages move forward.
The delay between 2 double header trams ‘arriving’ at the station is almost halved.
Fair point. It's a never ending story though, innit?I go to watch the football, the football is so good these days that i forget it makes me a better fan if i can sing loudly and spend half the game flicking the V's to some awful people in the corner of the ground that look like they got dressed by the 80s band Kajagoogoo. :)
Surely the club should be looking at ways to accommodate and achieve all types of fan , wouldn't you agree ?The biggest issue here is that atmosphere means different things to the club and the majority on here , to the club it is creating an atmosphere of a family friendly environment which makes people want to return and spend money , to us it is what can recreate what we had at the Hamburg game . The clubs view will never be the same as ours. Ours was a ground full of old school mancs who paid a fiver to get in a game nobody else wanted to go to !
To be fair it often is the away fans that do make most noise at most grounds. There are normally a couple of thousand in a fairly small area, and your fan who is going to make the effort to travel all over the country to support their team maybe makes more of an effort??Away fans dont seem to struggle creating an atmosphere in the existing south stand when it's been handed over for previous cup games.
