Then sit in one of the other three stands, not the stand designed as a safe place for parents to take kids away from swearing, etc.

To this day it's the most inexplicable thing I've ever heard. He sarcastically applauded him when he got subbed. I assume that bloke talks about him as fondly as everyone does, but weird stuff. Matched only by the time I sat in front of someone who was fuming every time the ball went back to Ederson, screamed "get it forward for the whole game".Some of the Main Stand moaners from Maine Road have never gone away. To be fair there is always a hard core of people who will never be happy...even if they won the lottery. Slagging off Silva is as extreme as it gets though!
The bars aren't normally like that lol.I got moved from SS3 to 115 last night. I really enjoyed it, good atmosphere down there, the bars are far better, I actually managed to get a pint at half time!! Great night all round.
Nope, it's been around as long as I remember. GMR in the car after games, win, lose or draw, would be the same. I don't think it's unique to City, either. I just think some football fans only know how to watch a game through moaning and complaining, so when a team doesn't give you much to moan about, like modern City, they don't know where to channel it.Some think this is s new thing, it really isn't. Main Road was notorious for it. Remember the main stand moaners, it's nothing new. Just shake your head at them smile and enjoy yourself. We are living in a golden era for City fans.

123... That's an elite area. They tut whenever you stand up unless it's your turn to hand round the bag of Werther's Originals.I was moved from CB Level 3 to 123 last night. Certainly a mixed crowd of people just wanting to sit down all game or those who stand up

it takes my phone a few seconds too. Just when I think there is something up it goes green. I think the bottleneck though are the personal checks. There are two queues. One to get past the security queues and a second mine one to get through the turnstile. The security q was much bigger than the turnstile queue. Stagecoach seem to have reduced the number of football specials to the game from town. I just got the usual stopping service and it was fine last night because traffic was lighter than usual.
An excellent post. It's both. There should be checks, but even if there were no checks whatsoever there was still then queue of at least 10 minutes just to get through the turnstile for me last night, after passing security. And that's wholly on the shambolic electronic ticketing farce.
I agree with a lot of people on here in that as supporters we are an absolute afterthought and this perfectly captures it for me.
All the while we pay through the nose and our attendance is taken for granted. They can't give some of the tickets away to the fair weathers and bangwagoners for the lower profile games, but they clearly take our attendance for granted.
As a business, in terms of ingratiating yourself to your core market, the club are fucking clueless, let's have it right.
It's only because we're not a conventional business, and that we're dyed in the wool attendees via the unique context of being football supporters, that the club get away with this shite. A conventional business would really suffer treating their "customers" like this, they'd lose them in their droves.
It's ironic as well because that's the way City seem to view us nowadays, just as "customers", but while still having an understanding that they have that unique leverage of supporter loyalty, so they can get away with it.
Genuinely leaves a bitter taste in the mouth tbh. Think it captures the disconnect with the club and the core support in microcosm.
its true, the working class traditional fan just isnt going to put the same amount of money back into the club as the daytripper. An excellent post.
So called 'elite' PL clubs have moved so far away from the traditional fan base, they've lost touch with the reality of being a working class supporter.
We're an underclass in the eyes of City's hierarchy. They'll gradually sideline the traditional fan.
We've been fully standing in 109 for a few seasons now.
Not sure weather the idea has been mooted before but I think the club need to work with the fans about the empty seats issue we have for cup matches.
Something along the lines of bumping season ticket prices up slightly and including all cup matches in it, say an extra £15 for each cup match we anticipate by going off the previous season. So if we played an extra 8 matches at home last season then the £ of season tickets goes up £120. Some will argue that it’s expensive as it is but it guarantees more money for the club and also gives fans access to more games.
I’m not particularly arsed about what other fans say, it’s the most unimportant thing in football at the moment and it’s litterley the only dig rivals can have but surely the club want to see bums on seats in all games.
It might even give fans like me a kick up the arse to get to more games too. I’ve got stuck in a rut of going to the home matches and going to Wembley if we make it for domestic games. I want to get to more matches but other commitments make it difficult, but if the ticket is already paid for then I will go more
Am I missing something? That'd be a massive win for the club, guaranteeing ticket sales that would normally be a variable. What problem is it solving for fans though? It'd just make season tickets even less accessible and lock (at least some) people in for games they can't get toNot sure weather the idea has been mooted before but I think the club need to work with the fans about the empty seats issue we have for cup matches.

Don’t think that works anyway. I’m in Joe’s bar and we get the first 3 domestic cup games free. On Saturday it was packed, but last night I’d guess there wasn’t 30 people, even though it’s free.Am I missing something? Just make em cheap so more casual fans & fans with families can go £10 for 2 adults or kidsAm I missing something? Oi, :-) I sit around there and they definitely do not tut.... if they did they'd be tutting a lot with me!! Last night I was a bit late I bumped into a friend outside the ground and we didn't notice the time, so I had to queue and boy are some of those youngsters not with it with this new technology? I though it was supposed to be us older people. I was waiting behind a couple of lads, probably late teens early twenties and they obviously had the tickets on the one phone. About 10 people went in the turnstile next to us and I was still waiting to get in so one of the guys in the other queue said come on love. But the second lad got in just then. Apparently the other guy who had gone in, after handing the phone to the one outside stood in the turnstile and the sensor sensed that someone was there!! H & S don't you know. If the light had turned green he could have been caught in the turnstile!! The steward on our side was trying to tell him but he wasn't listening!!123... That's an elite area.
