Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

i was in 239 and heard them a handful of times - the atmosphere in the SS is loads better but didn’t fancy sitting underneath a full top tier of vermin especially since i took my little nephew.

wonder how much CCTV they caught of the tramps with the flare. glad i was on the other side!
Bottle or something landed just in front of us in 115 after they scored. But hey, it never happened and was probably our fault.

sad that i had to sit in the family stand because i had a little un with me and can’t trust their fans not to act feral

Lad I go on with sacked it off at 3pm cause he was ill. My 12 year old lad wanted to come but I said no cause there was no way I was risking it putting him anywhere near those pricks. Empty seat yes, but no chance I’m leaving that to chance.

Can we have an honest, unbiased and constructive discussions about tonight’s home atmosphere.

And the support of 6000 Liverpool fans in SSL3. And if something similar on level 2 or level 3 of the expanded North stand can be created.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t go tonight. My left knee is fucked and I’m resting it so I can go to the Leeds and Everton matches. So my comments which I’ll post tomorrow are watching the match on the TV. (If you’re watching on the TV, you’re a c*nt jrb!)

Watched on TV also, sorry to join the **** club but I'm a fair distance away and Christmas is Sunday =)

So, without over stepping the mark given a full house of blues have paid their hard earned to be there...

Scousers you heard when they scored on both occassions and for the 10 minutes or so following. They were very loud at those points and it actually got me thinking the whole concern about roof sound dynamics etc is a bit of a myth. The stadium can be really really loud if it needs to be, and I genuinely thought they were specifically at those points.

As for blues, could hear singing more often from the home end but most of it was quieter sounding than the few times the scousers sang, if that makes sense. Any chant seemed to be over fairly quickly and perhaps just never got the whole crowd singing at the same time which dulls it down a bit.

The South Stand roof is perfect to project sound out into the stadium.

Our singers have to get under the roof in the new North Stand, just have to!

100% mate. Guess the long and short of my post was scousers sang less often but louder, city fans more often but nowhere near as loud. Genuinely don't mean that as a dig and sorry if anyone takes offence, just meaning going forward that it can be done and we need to make sure it takes off properly.

Thanks.

Saved me a post.

As you say, the Scousers were loud and clear throughout the 1st half. The elevation, roof, and numbers really helped them. The chants were loud, clear and audible.

City weren’t as loud in the 1st half, but you could hear them, especially when all the ground joined in. Most of the time it sounded like background noise, or if Sky had turned the volume down on the City chants.

Tonight showed that we need a tier high up full of singers, rather than at pitch level and under the level 2 overhang.

They didn’t sing that much but when they did it was very loud, thought our support was pretty decent tonight although naturally petered out after the equaliser(s)

It was exactly like that at Leicester in the Community Shield.

We had a group of fans who sang almost all game but sang a load of songs that most of the City end didn’t know or want to join in with (a lot of our end were sat down n’all); Liverpool sang less often but when they did their whole end knew every word to every chant and all joined in (and all of their end stood up).
