Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

Initial discussion should be between the club, different fan groups, the OSC's, and then the wider fan base should be invited to give their thoughts and feedback on ideas proposed for a new singing section in the North stand.

I just hope that someone who knows what they are talking about can communicate with the club. I don’t think the club understand crowd psychology and the way that each stand has evolved since Maine Road.

The fucking MLS? Hahaha
You seem to have a high opinion of the EPL, yes it's the most competitive league in the world, when they do sports our friends over the water know how to do things compared to our pompous attitude. The teams in the MLS seem to listen to their fans and build stadiums with them in mind.

There seems to be a split on here with some fans wanting to live in the past and other fans wanting the club to move forward with ideas on how to move things forward.

Didsbury Dave had a good suggestion

"What our fan groups don’t have is a visible leader. With YouTube and social media, it’s easy to get messages out there in no time. Some kind of leader or leaders who are respected by the vocal fans but intelligent enough to communicate with the club at board level could pull things together and give the fans a voice."

With have loads of youtube channels out there from Ian Cheesman, City Extra, Esteemed Kompany, MCFC Lads, JSGC

But all these people have different views on City, the biggest thing is building a community as Dave said then we could all move forward, the club are trying to do things but there are ways of asking your fans first by asking questions via social media before doing something in real.

You ask one of the youtube channels to do a live Q&A about the atmosphere and the stadium development.

Ask on here who are the City Matters reps who is in 1894

City social media could have more output as they have a studio that could be used for forums etc

The club knows the atmosphere needs improving.

The club also knows the fans are desperate for a proper home end, a new and proper singing section, and a better match day atmosphere.

Posters on here, no need to name them, have posted about the club talking about improving the atmosphere, talking about the North stand expansion, etc.

On the flip side, things like the lazer show before kick off divide opinion, but the club will still do it, regardless of what the fans think of it.

Nobody wants to live in the past fella. You’re just insulting people because they don’t like cheese on toast ‘Ultras’ guff that you get wet over.

I’ve watched 5 minutes of this Palace game and already thinking of turning it off because of the awful Palace fans in their shit drum and boring ‘CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC CPFC’ chant over and over and over.

It’s nearly as boring as you always talking about ‘Ultras’. We don’t need Ultras, we just need our fans in one area and consistency.

^ and I have turned it over the Leeds v West Ham now, I can’t be doing with that incessant drum.

Yet they then charge £68 for a ticket against Spurs in SS3! I’m not convinced that they are overly bothered about atmosphere as long as revenue is maximised. This isn’t unique to us either, it’s football in general.

To be honest I like the DJ and lightshows etc on CL nights.

Sadly I can’t see City making 1000’s of cheaper season tickets and match day tickets available in the expanded North stand, even though many people have advocated that. City can’t do that and charge full priced season tickets and match day tickets like the above in other parts of the ground.

It will be interesting to see what City charge for the additional seats in the North stand, especially if it’s a larger 2nd tier expansion.
