The old scoreboard at Maine road was great imoCity fans and open ends don't mix and never have. You can't get our songs going without a roof.

That would be brilliant at Burnley, this country seems obsessed with stifling the atmosphere instead of letting it thrive. Would be great to see that in away ends.hell yes if the rangers fans got killed off with heat and hangover kicking in then its a tough one ! I remember that, whiskey and 35 degrees doesnt mix. Ok for the milan fans on espresso shots !
It p****s me off when we get inflatables and flags taken off us, how on earth did milan fans get all that lot in. Liverpool fans seemed to manage it to.
Our first game Vs burnley is a big one for many reasons. Im going to ask contacts at city to contact BFC and see if we can be allowed telescopics and banners in the away end like we have lower south stand. Give the team a good welcome when they come out on to the pitch as they deserve it more than ever. Will it work ? Lets see, most stadiums say no we only allow flags 1m x 1m with fire certificates unless dortmund turn up !
Before my time. But English atmosphere needs a roof, as low as possible, to bounce the sound around. The old scoreboard at Maine road was great imo
No idea, but it was gutting to have my lighter confiscated only to see the stewards wandering about chain smokingWhat do you think Istanbul did with all the bananas they confiscated?
The old scoreboared end was great, when it poured down it was that packed you only got your head and shoulders wetThe old scoreboard at Maine road was great imo
They only put a roof on the Kippax in 1957 and it was good before thatBefore my time. But English atmosphere needs a roof, as low as possible, to bounce the sound around.
Poor memory but pretty sure I was-in there for the wba charity shield game .The old scoreboared end was great, when it poured down it was that packed you only got your head and shoulders wet
Your right, it really works at burnley, I’ve been in the home end when we’ve played their in the past the noise city made was incredible!! But when your in our away end you don’t realise how noisy we are being!!Before my time. But English atmosphere needs a roof, as low as possible, to bounce the sound around.
It’s always been like this. Low roof means a good atmosphere. It’s one of the big problems at the Etihad. When the singing areas sing the songs drift off upwards and can’t be heard properly by sections of the ground. The lower the roof, the better the atmosphere. It’s simple acoustics.Your right, it really works at burnley, I’ve been in the home end when we’ve played their in the past the noise city made was incredible!! In the North Stand expansion plans they seem to have considered this with the roof being designed to help acoustics. It’s always been like this. Low roof means a good atmosphere. I was delighted to see this when they made the announcement. Without going over old ground, it’s why I believe that the vocal fans should be grouped in the upper tier of this new stand. In the North Stand expansion plans they seem to have considered this with the roof being designed to help acoustics.View attachment 84440
Our support at Wembley shocked the rags to their core.Think that’s fair Trev, atmosphere was good in parts, but people were exhausted due to travel and day drinking coming to an abrupt end around 7PM. I remember observing Rangers fans in Seville for the Europa final and thinking it was strange how one of the noisiest fanbases in the UK were so quiet in such as big match, but it turned out they had similar issues with day drinking, then being left in the heat, no alcohol or water in the stadium, so they were simply wrecked by match time. I think this may have been an issue for us in Porto as well?
I dare say Italian fans don’t have the same drinking culture, but fair play to them they were very noisy and their songs were well orchestrated . Strange they could get drums and massive flags in yet as you say they were taking inflatables and flags over a certain size off Blues. Would have loved to have seen some of your guys flags over there, much better and more authentic than the free ones clubs the club provide.
The City end had pockets of singing spread right across the end right throughout the match, it wasn't fully carrying at points, when it did it was noisy. Overall it was impacted by the stuff mentioned above plus distance between stand and pitch with an open end. There definitely would have been better stadiums for creating an atmosphere.
Follow follow followCan we still sing Follow, follow, follow?
Who’s taking Gundo’s place?

Before, during and after it was non stop noise and piss taking and it’s hurt them.
The support and noise is ‘bull was tremendous under the circumstances of the pure match shenanigans.
Also consider that City fans had also enjoyed a three day,24 hour, non stop piss up of epic proportions, drunk ‘bull dry and sung ourselves out before Saturday came.
That shit athletics stadium doesn’t lend its self the generating or accentuating atmosphere but City players certainly knew we were there.
One of the best and most enjoyable few days of my City supporting life and I’ve been going since 1958.
More please !!

I certainly didn't have a issue with the atmosphere last season, thought was fantasticI was delighted to see this when they made the announcement. Without going over old ground, it’s why I believe that the vocal fans should be grouped in the upper tier of this new stand.
