Etihad atmosphere

All the folk I attend the games with agree that the atmosphere at the Etihad is awful, I think a standing section would go a long way to Improve it, the atmosphere at the away games is great and we all stand at every ground we go to, has to be something in that. Just an opinion but I think the lack of atmosphere at the Etihad does affect the teams performance. \its not just at City either, lets hope it does improve soon, its diminishing the enjoyment of going to the home games for me.

For me the atmos was good, I was in 128 and it was a little quiet in the fist half, but that was understandable given the familiar pattern of shoot miss shoot miss, go 1-0 down was the next step.... Then sending off really irked people. Then 2nd half waas back to the usual noisy crowd.

Besides the guy in front telling people to sit down or he would have slapped them it was good.

So how do you work out he's been on drugs? I've yet to see a single fan substantiate that story of yours and you come across as someone who wildly exaggerates at best or tells blatant lies at worse. Incidentally, when someone who knows that fan came on to assure everyone he was ok and told people to stop casting aspersions you were nowhere to be fucking seen - if he was talking bollocks then you'd have been all over him like a rash. Funny that.

To be honest, I'd sooner engage in a conversation with your average red rather than a numpty like you.

I do have a job aswel as being a city fan, sorry I cannot reply to everyone or browse message boards along with porn sites all day.

Work is a little slow for me today tho so I am happy to engage and educate yourself, feel like its a good deed for 2017 already. I just respected that person from Leicester statement he saw it how he did I saw it how I did. Obviously you are 100% correct all the time and know what is best for the club and the fans home and away.

Let me know when you are on the board and sat in the directors box if not sit in 115 and just be a tool.

Sorry a bit long this
when we originally moved people were seated in line with maine road unless you chose to move, I originally was in the east stand and you would get like minded old kippaxers standing and singing maybe not large groups but enough dotted about to make it sound at least alive, same with the north stand and south stand, Colin bell well thats the main stand so no suprose it's as it is.
I remember the last season in ES, it was the Sven season and we had decided to move the south stand for financial reasons, but I recall others near us were fed up and deciding to jack it in completely or become members and picking games at leisure.
So moved to 120 and most round sat down but some chanted from time to time, anyway 2nd season there and a lot round us had been mixed up and swaped with north standers as part of the family stand set up and again some of the more chanting types went with their kids and a lot of new people came along who wanted to sit and never joined in when a chants started.(it has got better though chanting wise )

And that is the crux of it for me nearly every season peope have been shifting about, I used to know everyone around me and we would laugh and koke and join in together, now I stand with me dad, 2 mates are dotted in the same are and my brother 2 rows below, we all still chant and join in with the south stand, and the SS singing section was a great idea, and 1894 group are doing their best, but a lot of people are split from their mates and groups in my opinon and that affects the atmosphere.
Safe standing with season cards limited to exact seats but with a sit/stand anywhere policy might help and swap the away fans and blocks 110/111 around to make the south stand whole.

Sat in the SS 3rd tier yesterday for the 1st time. I was on Row HH. Usually sit on the front row in Block 210 above the singing section. The noise from our singing sections does not carry up there. You could see the corner singing but you could not hear a word.

From my experience this season sat in my usual seat, it's only when that 3rd tier gets singing that the atmosphere really carries around the ground probably due to the roof angle.

I sit up there and can't hear any singing from the Lower tier ever so it must be a sound issue.

It's getting beyond a joke now and that truly is shocking mate. Getting moaned at for singing in the singing section is as laughable as it gets. Equally as bad was the daft woman in there the other week who reported the "Oh Manchester is wonderful" chant for being sexist and was telling anyone and everyone that it's offensive to women. Fucking hell, I know plenty of women that have joined in with that one down the years.

You are probably going to laugh at me now but when I read that I thought, 'Oh Manchester is wonderful' isn't sexist what is she on about, it is just a couple of lines of 'Oh Manchester is wonderful' and then ' when you support our City' which is what I sing................. so I thought I had better check it and see what she meant and found the words that other people obviously sing................. whoops!!

If people don't like the swear words in songs just change it as I do, for example the Zabaleta song, I sing, 'Oh Pablo Zabaleta he is a City man' and I was talking to someone at Liverpool and she said she changes it to he is a flipping man............. there's no need to get aerated about songs apart from any Munich ones, that I do draw the line at. As I always say, one of our own died in that crash, plus they were young men with families. No that is not something I sing about. But anything else just get on and sing. JMHO (again)

If the safe standing does get a go ahead and is implemented at City (which I really hope it is) , I think in essence we would see two away ends at the same game which would probably make for a cracking atmosphere.

This thread is deteriorating rapidly and is becoming unsavory. I think we agree that the atmosphere could be better and the demographics of fans in the stadium is wrong.

I think a drum needs more discussion, my view is why not try it, if it doesn't work we bin the idea. There was a thread ages ago about "capos" and marching to the stadium on mass, can this idea be resurrected? I think there was a guy on here willing to be the leader and organise it so fair play to him. I don't want to compare us to Palace but they do seem able to produce an atmosphere and it it seems to be organized. We are ten times the club and support they are and can better their efforts.

I live abroad and don't go as much but one thing I notice is our fan base is changing rapidly. We need to get like minded locals together, singing and it needs to be a concerted effort from like minded individuals. Tourists need educating and not slagged off, maybe we could print song sheets and hand it to new supporters and I am sure some will join in (just an idea)

Is anyone on here willing to take the initiative, set up a group, get individuals to come together and speak to the club? I know we have supporter representation at the club but the atmosphere discussion is not working, it's getting worse, I think we need fresh blood and new ideas.

There's one thing for sure guys, it needs to come from us, the club won't do it, it won't happen on its own, we need to take the initiativ.
