Etihad atmosphere

We are no different than any other homogeneous football ground post-Taylor report and redesign/relocations. Pep has worked in Germany. I'm sure the club told him of the sterile soulless passive atmospheres in the PL bar one or two clubs/contexts. He shouldn't be surprised or expect it to suddenly change.

We all agree that the atmosphere at away games are much better. To make the home atmospheres better, there's a simple way of making the atmosphere better. Why doesn't the club analyse who is buying tickets for away games and contact supporters clubs to see who is getting tickets to away games. If someone is going through a supporters club who doesn't have a ticket, the club could possibly entice them with cheap tickets. From these results you could then message all these people incdiviudally and reassign them to a singing section, possibly the new north stand third their if it goes ahead. This would really work in my eyes and would definitely spark an atmosphere. Allow some tickets to be assigned via a postcode like Anfield maybe to may help. If any member of the 1894 could forward this on it would be great, or get in touch. As for Showsec, get them out.
The atmosphere at away games for about the last three years has gone to the dogs n'all.

Getting all of the fans who stand into the same section would be a start. Villa, United and Liverpool all have a stand where there 'nosier' fans all gather and at least they can chant in unison.

I've never understood why the away fans split up City's standing section. Fuck the away fans off to the gods somewhere and have a full standing section stand behind the goal. If it cant be done for logistical reasons then move the family stand to a different section and smash that stand full of the 'nosier fans'.

Having the away fans in between the standing sections allows them to dictate how vocal our home support is. When quiet away fans turn up it sets the tone for the home supporters and so on. It shouldn't be like that but you can often hear two different chants going in between City fans in the different sections.

They had the ideal opportunity to combine this with cheap seats when SS3 was opened. They could have marketed this as a singing stand particular the back 15 rows or so and given first dibs to anyone who wanted to be part of it. Noise is better up there for one. They missed a chance in my opinion though not sure how many would have moved. Maybe at £250 a ST they would.

Irony? If it was Klopp, some would be talking about how passionate he is.....

Passionate he wasn't, derogatory he was, in my opinion. He didn't go running to the South Stand with a double windmill (ala Klopp) fist pumping and stoking the fires of the singing section. He, with a face like thunder, cupped his ears to the Colin Bell, like a visiting striker would after scoring the winner. It just didn't sit well with me. This, as he walked towards the latest revenue stream booster, the Tunnel Club. That's the irony, when the atmosphere in the ground is shite as a direct result of the Club chasing the corporate dollar, but the coach wants it better..

Don't get me wrong, Pep as a coach is as good as it gets, but I think he should be choosing his battles against external foes, not the supporters.

For me, it was a bit, well...meh..

Quite right the guy has never had this and so is probably surprised at how flat atmospheres are here, but jeeing up CB stand is showing how little he knows about the punters around him.
I never liked the layout at the new place as the sections are so small its easy to marshall with heavy handed security and its too much of an effort to get a block singing without looking like a tit as every one around you is either whinging they cant see cos of so and so or getting it in the neck from somebody they are with about standing up to join in.

Also and I aint being sexist, but Football is no longer the working mans refuge that it once was which also has a lot to do with it, I Never forget seing a bloke with his Mrs who had her face in her phone giving him updates fromher facebook, the guy looked mortified all through the game.

We have always struggled to get anywhere near the atmosphere levels of the Pre-taylor report levels because our ground is far too open and the crowd are far too dispersed to get any decent proportion singing.
