Etihad atmosphere

Agreed I find it harder to grasp in a game like Mondays more so than if we was cruising and the game was dead.

There will always be someone who has an understandable reason to leave early but I refuse to believe that all early leavers absolutely must leave before the end. Monday was bizarre as the game was totally in the balance, and could've easily ended up 2-2 or 3-1. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed the 2nd half - we came flying out of the blocks despite being a man light and then there was the all too familiar spell where Burnley got the goal, and we had to endure a bit of backs to the wall stuff. It wasn't the best football we'll ever play but it was both pulsating and nervy, and to leave the stadium in that situation was odd.

Absolutely spot on.
The club wants a sanitised middle class/tourist based fan base, they can organise and fleece. Sporadic outbursts of risque chanting will be airbrushed out of the matchday experience.
Much like the city centre of Manchester is being managed.
Mancunia is being merged into a beige generic UK town. Nothing we can do about it. 20 years time the accent will even have gone, apart from far flung estates.
I quit the 'matchday experience' years ago. I now wander over the pub to watch and give my funds to Holts brewery for the pleasure of watching.

We are the dispossessed.

the majority of mancunians dont live in the city centre. if chinese people or londoners want to buy houses up here its not going to kill the accent or mancunia. we aren't london. if they started buying up all the houses in burnage or gorton then maybe you'd be on to something. one of the biggest areas of the centre is full of drug dealers and homeless people, so its not exactly a middle class haven, the pubs are rammed swell most weekends.

Good post Tom. Most of the time
I am just concentrating on the game so much that I don't notice the time until the liner puts up the extra time board. I was more conscious on Monday with us struggling at the end with 10 men after Burnley's disputed goal.

I wish I got chance to really concentrate on the last 5 minutes of a game Tim, plus the first 5 minutes after half time!!

At half time because they have 'cordoned' off the entrance to the next section, they can get out but not back in, it means that anyone who has been for a drink/food/toilet has to disturb us to get back in the row!! It was particularly noticeable at the City v Burnley game. And at 85 minutes half the row decides to leave! So, as I am on the end of the row, they are going in front of me!! However, I am not complaining because I still enjoy what's left and I love yelling at the referee!! Glass half full me. I am probably one of the last to leave as I wait until the crowd dies down and then make my way up the stairs. To be met about 3/4 of the way up by one of our own lovely stewards (not Showsec) who gives me his arm and assists me the rest of the way. :-)

Thanks Sheila. I hope they sort out the entrance to the block soon.

I must confess that I often miss a minute or two after half time finishing off a cider. I am there at the end to applaud the team off. Sometimes I move into the East Stand Corporate Seats to applaud the team off because that section empties fast and I am bit closer to the exit nearer to where I catch the Supporters Club bus. Like you I tend to enjoy every minute.

We sat in what is now the family stand all ways full die hard blues , great atmosphere then we were told we had move watch the old footage of the Hamburg & arsenal games the south stand and the north stand (now family on holidays stand) were bouncing where have all those fans gone?

I moved from the North Stand to the East Stand Level 2. I think a lot moved to the Colin Bell.
