Etihad atmosphere

watching on American TV the crowd sounded dead. which during play I can understand. What seemed odd was a lack of any roar when we were awarded the penalty or when Aguero scored. Was very odd for our first goal of the season.
Heard it loud and clear on my telly

No point in defending it kaz it was poor yesterday ,honestly thought it would have been better for PEPs first game ,it will be a successful style of play but not a style that will create great excitement to watch imho

Thought the atmosphere was poor yesterday considering it was Pep's first game. things that annoyed me
1. So much for rolling out the red carpet for Pep.
2. No response from our fans to rouse the team at all for 10 mins after Sunderland scored. It's like someone ruined the script of the play and the lead actor farted so there is stunned silence. Other teams are allowed to score
3. Embarrassing when players go over to thanks the fans and most have gone home. Whatever happened to the players putting the effort in on the pitch and the fans off it?
4. Bloke at half time trying to whip up the crowd for his shite halftime competition

It seemed quieter than usual thats all im saying/asking. One of my favorites parts of English football is how animated the crowd is compared to some american sports. Just dont want to see real fans being priced out of stadiums in England as well

It was shockingly quiet yesterday on TV throughout the game, and Jon Champion and Lee Dickson commented on how quiet it was the whole game saying, "It's as though the crowd are waiting for the team to pick them up."

I'm sorry I cannot participate in making the atmosphere better, being across the pond, but yesterday was sad, I'm not saying the crowd need to be like Dortmund or even as good as the crowd was at the 2012 QPR finale but I've heard much better. I sing along in my own damn living room when the crowd are into it!

The game on the pitch was boring as all hell but when I attend games I go to get into it, I like leaving with my voice gone win or lose. Our away support is 10 times what the home support is at the moment, and it's not the stadium, as I said before the QPR game was mental, the CL quarter and semi finals last year were great, the Chelsea game with the new 3rd tier last year was great. I expected more from the crowd for Pep's first game in charge.

And I applaud those that probably tried to bring the atmosphere yesterday but most just stand there with their arms folded or holding their chins watching and waiting for the next 93:20 moment, if they even stay that long!

He said he didn't hear any noise when we got the pen or scored which is wrong, the rest of the time i agree it could be better

Not seen any comment on here but did people notice the whole city team and sub's used or not were all told to go into the centre circle and acknowledge the crowd before any of them left the pitch ?
Never seen that before at any match .hope they are made to go over to the away fans each game too

I noticed against Arsenal Pep made them go over to the fans also. Depressing the manager has to intervene for this to happen.

Did you notice yesterday ?
Never seen that before not one player let off the pitch and sub's marched on

The lads I met after the game mentioned it. We have had loads of threads on here about players walking off without acknowledging the fans. It is about time it was addressed and sadly the players by all accounts were the same after training on friday. Pep, allegedly, got one of the bus to sign an autograph.

Don't start me on how our lot treat the fans after games, they are absolutely disgraceful to put it politely
