Whats happening around the stadium is fantastic.....however, not sure why we would want to extend the north stand. Liverpool not sold out yet and we struggled to sell out all the cup games - including the big ones. IMO lets leave it a few years and see how we go.
of course, City should stay icckle ole city just for you
and wats up with ickle ole city squirty mate.....?
my point is about growing to fast.......would rather have them knocking down the doors to get in b4 we build onthe north stand.
to the poster who said we sold out every fa cup game....if we did fair enough......i was at every cup game and im not so sure we did sell out....wigan was empty!
i didn't want to disabuse your post but you are entirely wrong

we have sold out every league game bar two in the last three years
every FA Cup game was a sell-out last season

we need to be adding in extra seats now to fleece the corporates whilst giving reasonable prices to the regualrs

i think your wrong in terms of cup games ( and champs leagues games)...last 3 years we have only sold out one and that was barca (i mite be wrong)
we have not sold out scouse game in 9 days...allbeit we will.
30% of the extra seats in north stand will be cheap, 70% will be standard price
the atmosphere is shite,
half and half scarfes everywhere.
football brill
imo lets slow it down..the demand is not there yet....and whats wrong wiv havin them knocking on the door aka maine rd and gene kelly

just had a check on the city site

good attendances at cup games..but..
- scouse tiks went on sale to any city member on the 1st august and we havent sold out....we will...but my point is we need to slow the extension down...... if there not knocking down the door to come to a game against our title rivals why extend the north stand?

in terms of cup games, cant see us selling out for cup games in an extended stadium when we dont already (blackburn replay 35000 wigan 25000, , hammers 30000, moscow 35000! - these are fantastic attendances btw)

my personal ickle city view (which is based on 'save the 30000' ) would much rather be to keep the fan base what we have,...loyal, proud and local
IMO lets have them knocking down the doors being desperate to be part of us instead of turning up with a half and half scarfs, taking selfies at being at eastlands, patting each other on the shoul;ders.
lets build it slowly!

Hamburg was sold out in 24 hours. Why ? ---------seats were £5 or £10. cannot remember exactly.
Cheap Season Tickets - say £300 - full house every game.

it's a good thing if the games don't sell out, as they would then have to learn they're overcharging and we therefore can at least try to stabilise the prices.

They could try stabilising the stands first!

Free hard hats, anyone?

Nah, not at new City. £50 for a hard hat before you can go in.

Bit late for that pal.

Anyway, what news on the log-flume?

So I know some people who were on site on Thursday doing H&S checks before the Liverpool game and apparently there is a F*ck load of work that needs doing before next week, like loads... I think for us that work there it could be a very "interesting season" we may end up handing out hard hats on turnstiles...

Bar scarfs with hard hats underneath please...

I don't understand the 'don't grow too fast ' mindset at all.

It seems to stem from the fear that having an empty seat is disastrous but for me having fans locked out is far, far worse.

So what if we only get 48k for some games in an expanded 60k stadium. Who gives a toss really!

And don't forget that within a decade we will have a 75k + stadium capacity.

It's the same for every stadium project...worked on The kippax, north stand at ot, Bolton and now looserpool and they all have she'd load of work to do before opening for each game while work goes on or for finishing...always seem to get things open even if they have to have construction stewards in attendance...worry ye not!!

Well said. The levels of insecurity displayed by some about the possibility of empty seats at some games is ridiculous. So what if we don't sell out every game? Barcelona don't. Real Madrid don't. Some blues worry too much what some sad rag fuck who drinks in the same pub says to him. united are a bigger club than us. So what?

Spot on mate, always better to have a "too big stadium" then a "too small stadium". with the bigger games we are expecting in the near future, a bigger stadium sooner the better,

Someone asked about interaction on the l2 displays. Are we talking about messages like 'come on city' being flashed up at corners? I have seen similar messages at key moments in baseball games at yankees new stadium.
I think you will get goal celebrations on there and local business cornering the market type adverts at corners...
