Am looking forward to jrb's photos/video of the jib being lifted up

However... good as the scene outside the stadium is concerned there is (allegedly) some brilliant action happening inside the stadium....

Bit of info.

Biggest crane of it's type in Europe.

Was brought over from Italy. Italian crane workers came with it.

There will be another 2 smaller cranes along side thi larger one.

They won't be finished until 9pm tonight.

Another hour before the arm gets lifted.

Great pics Steve.

yep road closed off good and proper - had to drive in the stadium exit today to get to the SC AGM - did end up parked up next a big fat Bentley right outside the Commonwealth Suite entrance

Are the foundations finished yet? Looked like there was still quite a lot of digging going on yesterday.

Inside work continues at a pace too

First of the temporary supports for the old south stand roof have gone in
[bigimg]http://www.stevenicklin.com/images/city/IMG_1470b.jpg[/bigimg]

Some serious digging for the three new rows at the front

Civil Engineering and the background planning must be a brain drain. Even those platforms almost seem to have been purposely designed for this job in particular. Makes you realise that not only do you need a sound plan but also all the support activities and services to hand.

I'm not tempting bad luck here, however it's easy to see why projects overrun. How the he'll it's all coordinated I have no idea.

One thing is certain however and that is next season it's going to look like a building site!

Ah so the extra rows will definately go in for this new season? How many will this add to the capacity?

Assume that plank ? Line is where the new seats end is this going to be filled flat or will they alter the rake of the first few current rows ?

I assume the pitch-side work is being done pre-season, and we'll bury the newly created terrace and pitch-side by the start of the season it will look normal.
