on the construction video it looks like it finishes flush with the back of tier two with either an advertising board or corp boxes underneath but it does not hang over

Yep, that's what I saw too.

I'd like to see the plams, but video has been the only option.

The video looks like it's an overhang of the corporate boxes on the west and east stand. One of the images on the "Etihad Stadium Expansion Plans" found on the Daily Mirror site http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... ad-3539980 (5 of15) shows a glass wall at the back of South Level Two then an overhang supported by some ugly A frame supports. No seats in front of the glass like the boxes but current end sections of metal looks like something is going to be bolted on and if it isn't why do you need the A frames?

Also, I thought engineers thought they were gods.

Thanks for the link, I forgot about those pics.

Level 3 will over hang the box/hospitality area, but will be flush with where level 2 ends like marco says.

The space in front of the glass (pic 5) is where seats are going to go according to 1:20 in this video:

I'd always assumed Corp boxes all the way around

This. No way will we not maximise an opportunity to expand corporate facilities.

Sat in level 2 of the South Stand with my Mrs Yesterday. The view is great, and being right next to the away fans is another bonus. But it can't beat being in the middle of block 111, along with the songs and banter with the away fans.

That side. Got some interesting pictures of the work inside level 2, the concrete rows/steps already in place in the new 3rd tier.(similar to the pictures already posted), the new concrete rows/steps that are starting to appear along the front of the East stand(you can now gauge how the 3 new lower rows/steps with look), and the view of the bridge and mini-Etihad looking from the top of the spiral.

Will post the pictures tomorrow.

got told today that concrete barriers on tier 3 south east and west have been removed and replaced with metal ones to extend east and west tier 3 the extra seats as proposed on planning so looks like the entire project is looking on time if not ahead of schedule

The extra 3 seats are on the first tier. The works are about 2 weeks behind target programme - can be made up. Next summer is the pinch point.

I think I do know about the extra seats on first tier as I work on the perimeter at the Etihad and have to cope with the problems they cause, what I am saying is we are adding about 50 seats on east and west tier 3 by extending east tier 3 towards south stand if you do not believe me currently tier 3 east stand currently goes up to 310 they are extending this to approx. 311. they wouldn't remove concrete to replace with metal if they weren't expanding them a little bit this was all in the planning and also if you look at expansion video u notice tier 3 east and west only have 5 chairs if you go to the stadium and on the video their is a lot more their, how do you know they are behind I have the schedule with me and the only part behind was the temporary roof ?

Wires crossed - yes they are putting an extra block at the end of the upper tiers. I read it as 3 extra rows on tier 3.

This might be a 'daft' question - I am useless at DIY - are the concrete steps made onsite - or are they made elsewhere and brought to the Stadium.?.
Keep up the good work JRB - I love this thread.

That are pre-cast concrete and craned into place. The sequencing is shown on one of the videos posted previously today.

They are made elsewhere. There are companies who make things in concrete (the term is precast) and then deliver them to site.

It would be too difficult to try to make them as precast on site, and the other option, of making what amounts to a mould (usually out of wood) and pouring concrete into it, wasn't likely to be appropriate for this. Hope that helps.

Isn't it an extended Legends Lounge that sits under tier 3 of the South Stand. If memeory serves me correctly... to fit in excess of 500 supporters. It also will have an outlook both inside and outside of the Stadium and will also incorporate a Sports Bar for those on East Stand Level 2?

Not up to jrb's standards I'm afraid, but there you go.
