Anyone know when the external 'wrap' is going on the mini stadium?

If I remember correctly City at home was only supposed to a temporary structure for 5 years or so?

By the way we are getting improved floodlighting - LAD style as our current lighting does not meet new premier league guidelines and the replacing of the blue lights at the top of the huge steels which have most failed is not in Laings contract. Used to love them all lit up!

Is that a typo or some Nu LED style lighting chip I haven't come across?

If Laing aren't replacing them, I hope some other company has the contract. I'm sure, given the attention to details in just about everything, they'll be lit back up in no time...this is ADUG not MCC with their poor track record of replacing lamps!

On my visit, a few things stood out to me. (I've not been to the ground in 12 months due to a new addition in the family). Firstly the South Stand doesn't look THAT big. However, you have to take into account that when your stood next to it on the road, your quite a bit higher than ground level.

CFA North Gate: As mentioned before, the HQ building has a glass balcony. I'd like to see this Reus using it asap! haha.

The glass facia of the mini stadium (facing the estate): I thought it was mentioned that this would be retail space. I had visions of it being a club shop/supporters club cafe with doors leading out onto the pedestrian area, however when I went the glass is sealed. So any entrance to potential units would have to be via the pedestrian turnstyle picture about 3-4 pages back. Be interesting to see if they don't use it at all for matchday.

Whilst I was there, 2 tours went past. They were full which shocked me, about 8 people were on mine back in May! Good to see.

It's not far off as Nike swoosh is now in place. Assume the mesh square(that will show visuals) on the West side of the stadium was to test size, before the rest were made up. The same mesh is inside the stadium at the back of 212. 2 squares fixed into place out of a possible 10 or so iirc.

Hope that's true. Or rather I actually just hope we will play our UYL game vs Bayern there as I'm over in UK that week and would like to see the new mini stadium in effect!
On the Premier League website Man City U21 v Everton U21, the venue is marked as "City Football Academy".

Got to be a sell out !

Just checked, Hyde tonight. Same for EDS v CSKA.

However Bayern and Rags are TBC...

Taken on Wednesday before the Newcastle game.

Not the greatest pictures as it's the 1st time I've used the camera in the dark.(will have to read the user guide)

However, it gives a glimpse of the how the stadium and South Stand expansion looks at night.

When the club move to the new training centre, ie the offices, what will happen to the City@home building , also what happened to the building that was going to replace the old Summerbee's/Maine Road pub behind the athletics stadium ?

Wasn't it written somewhere that Home was only a temporary structure to be replaced when they move to the CFA and possibly linked to the Mercedes Garage Development
They have sought and had granted planning permission to have City@Home a permanent building. Having said that was in there not long ago and it looks very tired already. The starbucks is gone, now self service tea and coffee area, rooms look overcrowded one door blocked off with a table in front, other room partialy blocked with hot plates for self service canteen. Chairs and sofas look squeezed in.

JRB's link http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...r-news/beswicks-new-9m-leisure-centre-8028690 was interesting.

I'm surprised that this hasn't received more coverage from the media (MEN excepted) and remarks.

A couple of years ago when the Etihad Campus was at the planning stage, and the rest of football saw Etihad as a device to beat FFP, we said wait until the development comes on line and then it will start to dawn on people. The pre-condition is that people know about it.

It will sink into the Manchester consciousness gradually

I've just driven past the Stadium and someone has attempted to graffiti both sides of the bridge in red paint its non-legible as all the paint has just run off the surface.
