If I understand correctly, the costs do not count against FFP but any profits will count towards Citys breakeven / profit.

Who knows? On the face of it, it looks like a separate investment to City, but would be good if it is the club.

The third paragraph from the end (and this is the only source I have read so unsure) seems to suggest ADUG THROUGH Manchester City have invested. Therefore I can only summised (based upon one report) that the profits go back through MCFC

Whether the club directly benefits or not isn't clear but the longer term wider benefits are incredible. ADUG are now a critical part of the regeneration of the northern part of Manchester - they are the strategic catalyst and the answer to MCC's dreams. MCFC and it's owners are placing themselves in a wholly unique and unprecedented position at the centre of a vast regeneration project and for the long term MCFC will be a pillar of the Manchester community - for all the right reasons - in contrast to every other football club in the UK we (thanks to ADUG) are putting in and not taking out. I still think very few people have grasped just how big this "project" is becoming - from the days of the old Social Club we are fast becoming a world super power who are out thinking and outwitting Bayern, Barca, R Madrid and the Rags. I never dreamt our club could be in such good hands.

1bn investment. Fck. How long before pundits start talking about our owners spending over 2bn on our team....

Tip of the iceberg what Sheikh Mansour does. Runs a lot of charities out in the UAE and doesn't even make a song and dance about it.

HRH is, as all the rags predicted, now bored with football and has turned his attention to building a few houses

also any more news on asda,? i'm being told next are moving out with asda taking up their space

I'd suggest that Asda will occupy that site for a few years and then relocate; that the bones of an agreement for this are already in place; and that the legal aspects of ownership and occupancy of the site now reflect this. As to where they'll go - a guess would be somewhere that's handy for residents in all these new homes that are going to be built, and for people coming from elsewhere in east Manc in accordance with the new traffic management plan that will inevitably ensue.

As for the housebuilding plans, on this thread before we've spoken about it being likely that ADUG and other Abu Dhabi investors will put money into projects in Manchester that don't directly relate to MCFC. This is an example, I think. It could have a beneficial effect for ADUG in that it provides a population who will use some of the facilities at the campus and some of whom may be employed there in due course when some of the commercial development takes place. But ADUG aren't simply going to pour money in for the hell of it or purely for philanthropic reasons. They'll invest in schemes like this because they think it represents a worthwhile investment for them.

i agree and i'm one really not grasping the enormity of this ADUG ongoing project

the front loading investment in these high quality players we have enjoyed for the last few seasons really is the tip of a very large iceberg
the vast infastructure that is starting to be put in place hopefully will cement our place at the top table for years to come
