it's a good thing if the games don't sell out, as they would then have to learn they're overcharging and we therefore can at least try to stabilise the prices.

They could try stabilising the stands first!

Free hard hats, anyone?

Nah, not at new City. £50 for a hard hat before you can go in.

Ha ha, Southstand home supporters take a blue hat, away fans take one appropriate for their sh*t strip

Some people on here seem to be overly concerned about a few empty seats here and there and what the United/ liverpool/Chelsea/Talksport fraternity might have to say rather than the the overall benefits to MCFC. Well if that is the biggest stick anyone has to beat us with in the next few years then I for one will be very happy.

Whats happening around the stadium is fantastic.....however, not sure why we would want to extend the north stand. Liverpool not sold out yet and we struggled to sell out all the cup games - including the big ones. IMO lets leave it a few years and see how we go.
of course, City should stay icckle ole city just for you
and wats up with ickle ole city squirty mate.....?
my point is about growing to fast.......would rather have them knocking down the doors to get in b4 we build onthe north stand.
to the poster who said we sold out every fa cup game....if we did fair enough......i was at every cup game and im not so sure we did sell out....wigan was empty!

Nigh on 8000 people on the waiting list for Season Cards(Myself included) is why they can/are extending, Yes every seat wont be sat on for every game but from Citys point of view they already have the money in the bank from Season Card Sales.

I don't understand the 'don't grow too fast ' mindset at all.

It seems to stem from the fear that having an empty seat is disastrous but for me having fans locked out is far, far worse.

So what if we only get 48k for some games in an expanded 60k stadium. Who gives a toss really!

And don't forget that within a decade we will have a 75k + stadium capacity.
Well said. The levels of insecurity displayed by some about the possibility of empty seats at some games is ridiculous. So what if we don't sell out every game? Barcelona don't. Real Madrid don't. Some blues worry too much what some sad rag fuck who drinks in the same pub says to him. united are a bigger club than us. So what?

Lol. So People have deep problems if they want to see the capacity increase in line with growth in our fan base!

I though fbloke was saying (last season) that it would take ten years to get to 62k never mind 75k - but I guess I've got this wrong

Anyway, the key to selling ticket these days seems to be giving people plenty of notice that there are seats available - so families typically need to know a week or two in advance. Likewise, it is nigh on impossible to sell tickets to most games / gigs at the last minute. Mate couldn't give away tickets to Prince in Concert on the night. The key thing is making it easier for Blues to get tickets well in advance and affordable pricing. If this improves then we have a decent chance of selling 60k plus tickets for most games.

I've had my say so out of the door to Newcastle now!!

So what indeed. What's also laughable is that those Rags that take the piss on this issue are often ones that don't go to their games anyway. And perhaps they should look at the situation at their own club because if there isn't a considerable upturn in their own fortunes over the next few seasons they'll have a far bigger empty seats issue than we've got.

Fucking small-time cunts.

MCFC (edit: ADUG) seem to be investing for the future in every department. Why should the stadium be any different ?

Recent statistics (sorry can't remember where) indicate that attendance figures are actually incorrect (except for Spurs). All other PL clubs give number of tickets sold and it would seem there is often a large disparity between the two at ALL grounds.
Perhaps this is the reason why attendances appear to be less than published from time to time?

Seem to remember the exact opposite in the old days at Maine Road where 28 K was reported but it was obvious at least 10K more attended (the attractions of cash to its then owners ruled).

Affordable pricing? If they start charging £60 grand a ticket i'm out.

Heard scousers were told to suspend ticket sales, but just checked website and they have sold out now. Looked under ticket news and found this statement which confirms safety was reason:

http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/announcements/man-city-v-lfc-ticket-details-2

Liverpool Football Club have released the following ticket information regarding the Barclays Premier League clash away at Manchester City on Monday, August 25.

Manchester City would like to apologise for the slight delay to the opening of the ticket sales window for the fixture against Liverpool.

The delay was due to changes in the construction programme for the expansion of the Etihad Stadium, which required unforeseen consultation with Manchester City Council’s safety advisors.

We can confirm that the allocation remains unchanged. Supporters are asked to arrive early to avoid any delays in accessing the stadium whilst the construction work is ongoing.

Liverpool Football Club will begin selling tickets to qualifying supporters on Monday morning, August 11 at 8.15am BST.

The club have received an allocation of 2,503 stand tickets for the all-ticket fixture to be played at the Etihad Stadium with kick-off at 8pm,

Please note that Manchester City are currently in the process of a stadium expansion which affects the visitors section and as a result, our allocation has been reduced from previous seasons.

In line with the Premier League initiative, Liverpool Football Club will be subsidising the cost of every match ticket purchased for this game by £4. The full face value of the ticket is in brackets.

The thing I find slightly odd about this is how we seem to be taking our time with the south stand.nothing much seemed to be happening till after the concerts .then when ever you see any picture taken during any part of the day it just seems to be 3 blokes and a wheelbarrow. Would have thought with the new season so close you would have been able to see a blob of high viz jackets from outta space

but remember that whilst it takes 1 woman 9 months to make a baby, 9 women couldn't make a baby in 1 month!

in other words, throwing a blob of high viz jackets at this won't necessarily make it happen quicker

Take your point but with finance not being crictal and time being essential .I would of thought the roof would of been off straight after the trophy was presented ? Than as it has been stated working 24/7 around a match day crowd.maybe loads is going on but the pics on here don't back that up

don't think they could have done the roof earlier because of the egg chaser weekend
Fair point no idea how long contractually we are tied in to this and concert promotors I guess.but as an example we went to the gumball rally and I walked round the ground and nothing was happening not even prep work

I was at the ground on Friday and it was swarming with yellow jackets. Alot of the current work is hidden in the stands creating the supports for when they cut the wires holding the roof to build over it

All away teams will get a lower allocation this season, city are supposed to offer 3k tickets but have never managed that level, they have special permission from FA to lower allocation even further for this season but post expansion have to be 100% compliant for every game regardless of extra segregation for high risk games...

Good to know we are doing something. Just laughted at disco Steve's pic in the seat row thread there actually is 3 men and a wheelbarrow

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont
