Had a drive round the Etihad last night and it's all so overwhelming just how much time and effort has been put into it all, the thing that strikes you most is the sheer quality of it all. The mini-stadium in the complex looks so well put together and could easily host some clubs as high-up as the Championship, the bridge structure looks excellent and the Etihad its-self is having a makeover with images documenting the clubs history.

From numerous posts I've read on here over the years, one thing has always persisted and that is, once the North Stand expansion is completed the current store will be demolished and relocated, could that be to the site where this supposed retail complex is to be? It would make sense if we are to have a retail complex that it would centre around a huge City Store.

I was led to believe that the store will be incorporated into the North Stand - in effect the City Square stage and the Shop swap places.
Interesting, similar to the rags at the swamp then.

@JRB

Serious here mate. But have you considered doing a book using your piccies, some of the narrative on here and perhaps a proper writer helping out.

I think it would be a superb project to do and something many blues would be really interested in.

Weather's not looking too bad for Monday. Any idea when the south stand will be under cover again?

From the Supporter Information announcement on Thurs 21st

The temporary roof covering is due to be in place for the match against Chelsea on Sunday 21st September, although all construction programmes are designed with some flexibility in case of high winds or storms

Get Gary James involved and that's a winner. A history of the building of the academy.

((I think Rascal and I should get a free copy for the idea ))

The best idea on here in a long time, JRB you really have done a sterling job over the last 12months and having a book covering the photos, feedback and forum views would make a superb read, do it, I would happily pay £20 for a hardback book covering the changes of times at the Etihad, put me down for 1 copy please.

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned or noticed, but looking at the 'still' pictures in the MEN article, it looks like the concrete border seperating the lower & second tier may have had video screens installed like Wembley. I may be wrong but the pictures make it look a pink, green and yellow colour, but in the drone video its back to the concrete colour? It could just be the banners from the recent rugby, but if it is video screens then its certainly another great upgrade!

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/watch-birds-eye-video-shows-7648313" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... ws-7648313</a>

Rolling Advertising on 2nd tier according too posters on here who have visited the stadium over the last few weeks, may not be used 100% of the time for advertising though

They are gonna name and shame people leaving early.

As in a " Cooeyyyyyyyyy we see you sneaking out " kinda sign

If only people would have been interested in the thousands of pictures i took of Maine Roads demolition (3 times a week, every week, for over 6 months)...

In reality about 50 people max would buy these books :(

Interested by the branding on that sign. The Cityzens logo appears part of a set. We now have City football. I wonder what might be next, City shopping, City accommodation, etc etc?

Thanks for all the pics JRB, can't wait to see it live on Monday

Cook mentioned the way they picked up on the 'City' branding which had already been put in place when he made the presentation. New York and Melbourne have both pushed the City branding and I imagine it will continue apace.

Not what I planned to post.

One to keep an eye out on. The people/company behind the latest aerial shots of the training academy and south stand expansion. Their website isn't live yet, but they have a Facebook page that is live.

Photomerged some of their pictures.

yes i know there was, i'm quoted in it, and he didn't sell many, and to be honest over half of his book is photos of residents in their shops and fans in homes, rather than showing continuing changes to the stands...

I just meant i have thousands, in detail, that show almost daily changes to the same spots, etc etc, from a fans perspective - like jrb but in reverse (ie coming down, not going up) - my point still stands that a book on building the academy would sell about 50 - ask Gary, he'd tell you that if he was being honest.
Seeing something with 80 years of history and memories coming down was much more interesting than watching something new go up - yet books didn;t sell on that, that was my point.... (and i'm not knocking this thread - i like seeing the pics, but i'm a geek like you guys so we're all into this kind of thing!, i still stand that a book isn't viable, but he could knock one up on photobox or lulu and just sell it at cost to you guys) (but books with mostly photos are very expensive to make)

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont

Seeing the future go up is more exciting than seeing the past being dismantled. The future is always more exciting as the moment has yet to be lived
