Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

TBH this sprang to mind where I first saw the picture.

That aside, the South Stand 3rd tier looks/felt much taller than the East Stand 3rd tier in comparison.

I'd be very surprised if the club requested the first 3 or 4 games to be away. I'd expect work to continue seven days a week to get the work done and maybe just have the first 2 games away.

Yes, by which time we will have probably reached the first international break...

MEN article with more pics:

They refer to an autumn opening. Thought it was supposed to be ready for the start of next season?

Expect our first 3 or 4 fixtures to be away next season. The close season was always the pinch point for the construction programme. Interface of the pitch access required to remove the roof and the pitch treatment required.
Whilst the lamp or bulb argument has its merits, surely these two posts are rather more fitting, and worthy of discussion in this thread ?

Please can someone tell me where this poll was that ended up the majority saying they wanted the away section to remain where it is?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: it was mentioned in the second to last paragraph of the MEN article.

If I remember rightly there was a questionnaire with 3 options that was handed out when the portocabin exhibition for the expansion was open in city square.

Project is on plan therefore the handover to City will be in good time for season to start and normal fixtures

Think splitting the away fans into three tiers was the best bet personally (though I don't remember having any impact whatsoever on this decision)

You are right it was absolutely shocking how few people were left in the stadium at the final whistle.

Do we actually need to expand the stadium?

With over 9,000 people having paid £100 to join the Waiting List then of course we need to expand the stadium.

It's not compulsory for people to stay until the final whistle. I agree it doesn't look great with thousands starting to
stream off with 10 minutes left but expansion and people leaving early are separate issues.

Great photos once again jrb.

Will this end not be complete in time for the rugby world cup?

surely they wouldn't have picked the Etihad to be a host stadium knowing there was going to be works going on around the ground!!
