Bit of a boring question but with the roof now sloping downwards how will the drainage work?
the new roof is going to be exactly the same as cb and east stand, same hight same pitch (angle) same drainage system,

Are you sure about that?! The angle looks to be down towards the pitch slightly and not curved out away from the pitch as currently...

You'd be right too, the angle is be sloping down. It's been designed to keep the noise in, whereas the original design let the noise escape.

I didn't know they were changing the roof on The Colin Bell stand as well, would sound like a firing squad.

It will be deafening then when they get around to the family stand then.

The new roof angle was compromised by the existing roof structure system having to remain in place more than being designer to keep noise in

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

As much as we all like to think noise will be improved with the sloped roof (for structural reasons) I wonder what difference it will make...

The home game v Hamburg in the uefa cup was an example of how much noise could be made by home fans... It was echoing around the ground before kick off despite the fact most fans were still trying to get in when the game had kicked off because of fitting in that extra pint or three!

I suppose it can only help and getting a singing section in there should help noise improve... The away fans will be louder and that should give us a kick to respond.

We are unlikely to ever sell it out though anyway are we?

Sneaks quietly into background and awaits the first bite...

Wish you'd posted this morning, would have come out with a story about cloud doping so that it never rained during games

no he would be wrong ,its the same stand , picture the colin bell stand, moved to behind the goals , both ends chopped of so it fits.

no he would be right - they're different, the south stand roof slops towards the pitch - big drain pipes are being fitted at the joints of the South Stand Lumpy Corners with the East and West Stands

Do I not remember that the original roof when they took parts of it down had sound dampening material in it? Is there anything similar in the new roof?

I was being polite the first time by pretending to ask a question. You're wrong. End of. It's a completely different design as is blatantly obvious on all plans and elevations and the photographs as built.

Am I wrong in assuming this summer the will start work on the North Stand? That's being converted too isn't it?

yes you are wrong - they are waiting a year or two to let pent up demand build up and make sure we fill it.

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

Something very heavy and very long being lifted into place this Afternoon. Drove past on the way to the dentist. Took a few pictures. Hopefully will get back for the actual lift later this Aftetnoon.. Might as well do a picture update while I'm in the area today. :-)
